Welcome to Burning Man

Justin_Gunn
Each year, deep in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, a festival based on radical self-expression and radical self-reliance springs to life in the shape of a temporary city filled with over 35,000 participants. Current producer and Burning Man veteran, Justin Gunn, takes you on a tour of this weeklong experience that must be seen to be believed.

    • Hey highlander78--

It does cost some money to go (at least 7-800), OR time and effort that you put into a large group.
Find a small group of people that want to go and pool your money.
Invest in shade structures- Domes (PVC pipe + rope), camo netting, Big tents to cover your smaller tents.
Buy a bunch of rebar and good quality rope to tie everything down.
Plan on 1.5 gallons of water per person per day.
Bring tons of alcohol to give away or trade for other fun stuff.
Bring snacks and easy-to-prepare food. Most of your eating will be at meals you get invited to or trade liquor for.
      Bring COSTUMES and MORE COSTUMES
Bring a good mountain bike that you dont mind getting dusty
Bring light, loose clothing for the day; warm furry clothing for night.
Shades, sun screen, and EVERYTHING listed on the burning man web site
Network with other people in your area who are going.
Rent a good car and get the daily insurance for it
Take your 2 or 3 friends and drive to Black Rock in north Nevada
Take out EVERYTHING you bring in

      HAVE FUN

    • Burning Man is a place to be free of social and cultural restraints. The display of art and self-expression is beyond conprehension. In order to fully understand how life-changing Burning Man is you have to experience it for yourself, but here is an awesome video - a glimspe into the world of BURNING MAN!

    • Still want to know more about the event? Want to attend next year? The whole non-monetary system sounds pretty appealing to me.
