Tuesday night she spoke to an auditorium packed with Stanford University students on micro-finance as a viable means of assisting the poor, and did a great job of it, evidently. According to one reveler her speech was "riveting" and full of insights about how to implement poverty relief that actually works.
Portman is an Ambassador of Hope for the Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA International), a leading microfinance organization dedicated to fighting global poverty.
And it's highly unlikely we'll be seeing snapshots of her exiting a limo while smashed with no panties on any time soon.

I've always admired her. I think she is one of the greater members of our celebrity community. Yay! A woman we can actually look up to!

Are there any actors who are NOT like 5 feet tall?

I had a huge celebrity crush on Natalie Portman 'til I realized she was tiny. TINY. Did you see her next to Clive Owen in "Closer"? She is like five feet tall!

Or how about that Jackass guy, Steve-O? Talk about not taking oneself too seriously. He's rad.

I hope that she's different in real life from her public persona. I find it absolutely refreshing to see a young starlet be socially conscious and actually try to make a difference in the world...but she needs to lighten up. Not saying she needs to be seen coming out of the club in a drunken, stumbling state...just not take herself too seriously. Dating K-Fed would be a great start!

Yes, I see your point, but it's always the publicly straight-laced ones who are the real maniac party animals behind closed doors, ya know? She might just keep a tight lid on it.
