    • pipeline looks like wicked thing! And i've never surfed, but i have one complaint. What happened to the days when surfers were cool, laid back people who went with flow of nature and didn't care. Now there's thug bullshit and turf wars?? Why is it that all good things must be destorted?

A lot of the thuggish mentality is warranted because so many tourist come to the islands and don't show any respect... they just want to catch a wave. There is a pecking order especially at pipeline aside from that its extremely dangerous the locals don't take any shite because lives are literally on the line... 'pipeline'.

If you really want to get the low down on the local boyz definitely watch this show 'The 808' its the shite and give you some insight to why things are the way they are livin local style.

      Peace

    • Hawaii is so damn beautiful I definitely see why the locals guard it with such fierceness. I stayed in the North Shore about a year ago for a week it was amazing!

    • Only #11?!?! This should be #1 in the Pod Bless America line up. I guess I'm sorta biased though because surfing is why I live.

I've only ever stood on the sand at Sunset Beach because I know the surf there is way beyond me. This was definitely a great pod though, because it really gave me, a surfer from Cali, a great glimpse into what life is really like for a Pipeline surfer.

    • Lived and surfed on the North Shore from mid 70's through mid 80's...Pipeline is the only spot I never surfed, it's a one man wave with one take-off spot and 80-100 guys after it, it's F-ing insane and as you can see deadly.

Every winter I was there people lost their lives at one or more surf spots. You gotta respect the ocean, the waves and know the spot you are surfing.

    • You get alot of crazies who turn up and chuck themselves over the lip.Maybe the Pipe Posse can be a positive influence without promoting localism.

    • How do I find out the names of the bands/artists whose tracks are featured? I'm a new user, thus, not properly schooled. Thanks!

    • Powerful place and dangerous. Bravo on protraying that, however no props on glorifying the primitive ignorance of a two ape fist fighting.

Its all part of it man, you didn't hear/see what he did before he got his ass kicked. At this level of surfing, you can't have clowns out there putting you in danger by being dumb... so you beat them senseless. Its the only thing some people will understand... and besides, theres no shame in some hand to hand combat. It is revered all over the world in many different forms. From bar brawls to kung fu masters, the whole spectrum beautiful, as it has been said "nothing is more life affirming than getting the shit kicked out of you" - over and out (and yes ,I will fight you!)

    • It's great for people to help bring an understanding and a respect for a great natural power when so many people can be nieve and potentially lose their lives because of it. Great job!
