I've heard -- as a Beatles fan -- of John Lennon supposedly trying to turn Prince Charles on to Marijuana when the Fab Four received their MBE's (never happened, or so said the living Beatles during the 1995 Beatles Anthology sessions). I've also heard of the US trying to throw the former Beatle out fo the country... This was documented recently in the film "The US Versus John Lennon"

The entire sentiment was rooted in John's anti-war activism. That and his drug use. So it's not surprising that Lennon plotted to put LSD in Richard Nixon's tea.

In never-before-seen home video footage from 1970, Lennon is filmed suggesting this little bit of michieviousness (classic Lennon) along with other insights to the world of post-Beatle Lennon.

Yoko Ono is suing over ownership... And (in my mind alone) possibly to protect the Lennon legacy that she has helped mold since his assassination in December of 1980.

    • Grace Slick talks about how she almost put LSD in Nixon's tea at a white house meeting. This wasn't an original idea. This is from an interview conducted by the History channel. John Lennon may have been paraphrasing Grace Slick- of Jefferson Airplane

Slick and Tricia Nixon, former President Richard Nixon's daughter, are both alumnae of Finch College. Grace was invited to a tea party for the alumnae at the White House in 1969. She invited the political activist Abbie Hoffman to be her escort, and planned to spike President Nixon's tea with LSD. The plan was thwarted when they were prevented from entering after being recognized by White House security personnel. {source} Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Slick

    • I tend not to read comments on MSM blogs and articles any more because of hateful postings. It seems like a confirmation of the "Greater Internet Fuckwad" theory most of the time.

    • Have you read some of the comments in the link? We have some hateful people in this country. Personally, John Lennon is a legend and I will always love him, what he stood for, and his music. Nixon only used him to get the votes of working class people and those who hated the "hippies" and gave him a lot of grief because he stood for peace. so while I don't condone drug use, I can understand his fantasy.
