If the rumours are true, the deal would see the 'Family Guy' creator become the highest paid writer/producer in television.
The deal has allegedly taken over two years to negotiate, with it covering Macfarlane's work on 'Family Guy,' his 'American Dad' series and the upcoming spin-off, 'The Cleveland Show,' up until 2012.

Peter: Ok, here's another riddle. A woman has two children. A homicidal murderer tells her she can only keep one. Which one does she let him kill?
Brian: That's not a riddle. That's ... that's just terrible.
Peter: Wrong, the ugly one! - 4 years ago

Family Guy is lazy comedy, pandering to the lowest common denominator, and overusing pop culture references to the point that it is stupefying. It's not really all that funny, and certainly isn't worth a million dollars. It's a show anybody could write, and several people have. The characters are one dimensional and quickly became boring, and people who think this is cutting edge comedy obviously don't watch enough comedy.
I can understand it's appeal, if I am honest. I didn't mind the first two seasons. But now it's just an elaborate joke at the viewers expense.
Fox can give this guy 100 million, but they couldn't advertise Arrested Development properly? Come on!

Family Guy is disgusting....and by God I love it. Let's just hope Fox doesn't cancel the show after he's received his first paycheck...cause you know they will.

I'm all for "Family Guy." In fact, I down right like the hell out of it. But spin offs suck. "American Dad" sucks, and so will "The Cleveland Show." It will be to "Family Guy" what "Joey" was to "Friends." I just don't understand why these people can't realize what they already have is perfectly fine and quit while they're ahead.

"I get a lot of pleasure out of making shows," MacFarlane said. "It's a bonus to be getting paid well for it, and it's a double bonus to be getting paid exorbitantly for it."

Seth MacFarlane is not only lucky because FOX brought back the once cancelled Family Guy, but truly talented. His shows constantly push the envelope, and are some of the freshest comedies on network television today. He's worth every penny.
