The ninth series of Big Brother has kicked off with 16 housemates vying for fame and fortune. They include the Channel 4 show's first blind contestant, radio producer Mikey Hughes.

A Thai massage therapist, a female bodybuilder and a Girls Aloud reject are among the hopefuls. For the first time, the series features a couple.
