Was lucky enough to score some tickets for the European Premier of the new Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio film last night in London. The film was classy, owing a lot to the intelligence of the original book, but it was totally depressing. A lot of the performances were good, but occasionally in the more 'dramatic' scenes, yelling fights and so on, there was some cringy over acting. Some of the 50s outfits were pure joy for a retro clothes fanatic like myself. Leo was on the red carpet looking short and Kate looked great. But they were both freezing in the London January weather, even native Kate... but not really surprising considering how little she was wearing. Despite the cold, they both did their dues on the red carpet doing autographs etc. Kate made a joke in the intro to the film about her Angelina gaff at the Golden Globes. Nice to see she can still laugh at herself.
