BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts, today officially announced the development of Mass Effect 2, the sequel to the multi award-winning 2007 hit, Mass Effect. The Mass Effect trilogy is a masterful science-fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life forms and mysterious uncharted planets. In this dark second chapter, Saren’s evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans, still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril…

“We’re going to surpass the extraordinary gaming experience we brought our fans in Mass Effect by delivering intensified combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration, all while delivering a powerful, emotionally engaging story,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager and CEO, BioWare and General Manager and Vice President, EA. “Mass Effect 2 is shaping up to be an unforgettable RPG-shooter experience, taking players on a non-stop roller-coaster ride filled with stunning plot twists and no-holds-barred action.”

Mass Effect 2 is coming to PC and the Xbox 360 video game system in Early 2010.

    • Ha, this is why I have a PS3 and Xbox 360, got the best of both worlds!

I can't wait to see what steamy sex scenes they're gonna cook up this time! Oh, and I want a command system like KOTOR, where you can stack up the commands for your person and the teammates!

    • Well the first one wasn't on PS3, don't see why this one would be.

Hopefully the second title will be better than the first, the first was too rushed and there was never really a purpose in doing sidequests or exploring the galaxy.

I still enjoyed it a lot though, it was an amazing journey that rivaled plenty of cinema. Hopefully this next one will fix those problems.

In the mean time, I'll probably need to teleport out of the time-space continuum and visit myself in the fifth dimension to get the theoretical supercomputer that will actually be able to run this game on the PC.

    • Mass Effect, despite it's cheesy made-for-scifi-channel miniseries feel, is by far one of the best games, especially when I decided to make the commander gay and save his guy friend in exchange for no-brain Ashley's life.

Fallout 3 fucking blew my mind away, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. The V.A.T.S. is the coolest, too bad I can't enter into it in real life. I desperately wish I could live in a future like Fallout 3's (only not as a ghoul and preferably as Moira's lover).

    • Honestly, I ran through Mass Effect. I didn't do any of the side quests or any exploring. Thus, not having substantial time with the game to get a feel of its depth. But, from what I experienced, It was a good game.

I haven't had the time to get into Fallout, but I'm dying to.

Oh are you in for a treat. Fallout 3 is simply amazing. You can cruise through the story in about 9 hours, but you'd be missing out on the game's greatness. I dedicated about 100 hours to it, and believe you me, it was well worth it. It is by no means a perfect game, but it's damn close.

Visually, gameplay-wise and in some ways, thematically, it is better.

But Fallout is still pretty much the better game. Mass Effect sort of fell flat.

Fallout's great but, it's sooo lame they had the experience levels end at 20. Except if you download the alaska level. Where as Mass Effect allows you to go up to level 50 and when you beat the game you can procede to level 60.

That way you can do all your side missions and then slide right through the story line. Fallout fell short of that.

Either way, I still can't wait for Fried Green Tomatoes, the game. They say you can you can do anything in that game. Anything...
