Gears of War's New Ranking System

Yesterday when I played GOW and I noticed something very different, like the new "Title Update Version 3 Ranking System". So, online players say goodbye to the retarded military ranking system and hello to the 1-100 ranking system. This video covers the basic changes with the playlists and the level/experience/achievement toasts. GOW still isn't as cool as Halo in which you can view your stats online though, but so far I think I like it. What do you think? Do you like the changes or are going old school?

I guess the new ranking system is a more accurate representation of the player's score, but I much prefer thinking I'm a Lance Corporal or whatever it was...
Made me feel more like a soldier than a number.

Hey, military ranks are cool. Pure ranking is going to create a lot of problems.

True, it doesn't seem like they group players with similiar ranking from the games I played. (I was a 1 pitted against a 20- I'm not that cool in GOW yet, working on it) What other problems do you think could happen?
