Leona Lewis slapped by a fan at Book signing

Apparently security was tight at the Waterstones book signing, however it seems it was not tight enough!
Why would anyone want to slap Leona? Yes her music isn't the best, but it's a shame that people who are willing to randomly punch famous people they dont like, opt for poor Leona instead of someone who truly deserves it like Gordon Brown or any politician for that matter, now that would make the news!

    • Leona must, or at some point must have lived on my street, because when I left the house to come to work this morning there were loads of pap's in vans with cameras outside my door asking me if i had seen her and if she still lived there. Poor girl, first she gets a punch in the face then loads of burly men with telescopic lenses turn up to try and get a shot of the bruise.

    • what has everyone got against her?
      She's a good singer, she's moral (turning down that contract Harrods over the fact that they still stock real animal fur) and I don't see any reason why people would want to harm her.
      I don't really like her music and I can't stand the X-factor/pop idol culture that's thriving at the moment but that's hardly reason to get any joy from this news at all!

      what kind of asshole hits a respectful, seemingly classy chick like her??? maybe spray some water at them, say some mean shit, but REALLY HIT THEM?!?!

      she doesn't deserve that. but that lead pussycat doll could stand to have the slut slapped out of her, but not leona lewis.

    • There's video of the aftermath at this link, which the man accused of slapping Lewis being wrestled to the ground by security while the singer is escorted away, holding her hand to the side of her face.

      The Daily Mail reports her assailant laughed after the incident. I can only assume he's mentally ill, unless he's known to the singer and it's a personal thing.
