Chef/King of the Jungle Gino D'Acampo along with Actor Stuart Manning was charged for killing a rat and cooking it for fellow contestants. The Australian RSPCA has also quizzed ITV producers on this. ITV says “Australian RSPCA are currently looking into an incident in which a rat was killed in the camp.” Both contestants will be on trial on the 3rd February (they may face 3 years in prison), the producers may also face charges.

it's a TV show. They are not being starved to a point where they HAVE to kill animals to eat them. They chose to kill an animal that they didn't have to kill. It wasn't necessary so it was cruelty.
