Coronation Street episode dropped over shooting storyline

ITV last night and continuing today will delay airing an episode which features a hostage/shooting situation. The decision was made because of the tragic events in Cumbria yesterday.

ITV are reported to be in talks to when it'll be appropriate to air the episode.

    • I note that the BBC in typical "nanny-state" styled "apologised" for a Radio 4 play with a storyline that involved a shooting, broadcast the day after the event.

      Sure the shooting n and around Whitehaven is unexplained, unbelievable, and shocking ... but the world doesn't stop turning and the event itself is a drop in the ocean compared to other mass murders.

      Have you seen the reportage? Reporters pushing that "how do you feel" question and the interviewee giving the tears on queue, even those not directly related to the event itself.

      This bloody country should stop telling me how I should feel, how I should react and what TV is and is not appropriate to be consumed at a particular time!
