Just because Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II says she wants to put some extra letters after your name doesn't mean you have to obey. Just ask the no-worse-for-wear authors, actors, poets and musicians who turned theirs down. And you don't have to be John Lennon to tell the monarch what she can do with her medal.
