Bafta Nominations 2011: The King's Speech and Black Swan lead the field

It's always interesting to see how the commercial American film awards differ from the British. Yesterday we saw the Golden Globes honouring The Social Network as the best of the best - winning an impressive four awards including best dramatic film of the year.

The Baftas however, haven't even nominated it in the best picture of the year category, opting instead to give an impressive 14 nods to the British The King's Speech with Darren Aronofsky's ballet psycho-thriller Black Swan a close second with 12 nominations, followed by Christopher Nolan's Inception with nine nominations - a film which didn't win a single Golden Globe.

Don't forget that we the public can decide who wins the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. The nominees this year are: Gemma Arterton, Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone.
