    • Maybe the nation state is just too big to give us
      a meaningful sense of identity.
      If we organised and had control over our lives
      on a smaller scale then we''d ''belong'' more.

    • I wonder if us Brits can hold onto our last little bits of patriotism, I hope so, I really do.

      But as we've employed an Italian as the coach of our national football team and seem to be more concerned with how others may perceive our English traditions then I am growing ever more doubtful.

      I guess there is a line between racism and patriotism that seems to become blurrier with every day.
