"Southern Hospitality"

Trenkamp
The New York comedy group, Rash Behaviour, is invited to perform at the Charleston, S.C. Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival. However, when an openly gay actor performs an openly gay character in front of 3,000 people, audience members threaten to sue the festival, the festival demands that the group apologizes, and a lawyer for the city of Charleston is called in. Knowing that their actions will determine how future performers are treated in Charleston, the group has to decide how far they will go to stand up for themselves, for the arts, and for freedom of speech.

    • good piece. Definitely feel as though we need to see some of the sketches in question. Regardless, i still wouldnt have apologized. They hired you for your services. Like you said in the piece, they saw your tape you submitted.

    • This is an interesting piece. It seems though, that we kinda need to see the performance, or at least have a sense of what the performance was before I can get behind the idea that Rash Behavior was rashly censored. Is that possible to put into a later cut?
