A researcher says that "humour develops from aggression caused by male hormones."
I don't think it's genetic. I think that guys are taught from a young age to think that they are funny.
What do you think?

I agree that it has to be a combination of factors. Perhaps 30 to 40 years ago women were not as funny because they were too busy trying to "Mother Knows Best". Since the 60s though more and more women have broken out of the that mold and are creating new realities. These realities can be absolutely hilarious.
One example of funny women is of course Barbara Streisand, and she got her start early, but there are countless examples of funny women, look at Lucille Ball. She was funny when "Mother Knows Best" was the norm.
Genetics only gives you a possibility or predisposition but it never is absolute.

Since when was wit the result of hormones? Babies have a great sense of humour, it is not taught to them, it is innate, and not limited to just one gender. Having a memory that goes back to my babyhood, I remember well my toddler and pre-school years, and there were almost as many funny girls as funny boys - some of the girls were more demure and less likely to clown about, but given the right environment (being among only girls), they felt free to manifest their clown side.

His tests only measure effect, not cause. One has to take into account socialization, which he fails to do, to truly determine whether such differences are actually genetic.

I do not think testosterone is the only factor though. Too simple.
