Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

IAMmartini
The producers of Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin are at it again with their new comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Does it live up, or has Apatow run his comedy course?

    • LOVED it. Vavavicky, I don't think this movie was meant to be cinematic. Comedy is tricky. You need to take the funniest takes, even if it means a boom might be in the shot. Comedies are focused on the comedy. And comedy gold can't be reproduced in another take.

    • GGGGWHAAAAAAT??? ...what? are you kidding me?
      worst movie ever.
there is a freaking MICROPHONE hanging in the frame for like, 5 minutes. I thought there was going to be some reality tv show joke, but no..... that apparently was just a total accident that no one bothered to clean up...
also- all obvious jokes and really forced acting aside (really forced, really really forced- ok yeah i'm putting that aside), I can appreciate that the two male leads did not have perfect bods, that was cool, but wait, wait a tic, the two females are so ridiculously on point that all this movie did was say, "heyyyyy, it is ok for dudes to be lazy, but chics- whoah now- chics better be a size negative 7 or you know, they're like, gross. but dudes, your cool dudes. your cool."
--- i'm going to go do some breathing exercises and calm down now. i've got so much angst boiling up for losing those two hours of my life.

    • I've never seen a movie fall of a cliff faster than this movie... The first half was a 7/10 and it became a 2/10 because the "serious" part of the story (the guy's struggling with the break up and the romance part) never drew me in...

When you're stealing story lines from She's All That you know you're in trouble...

I guess that's what happens when a comedy is 112 minutes...

Much like the 40 Year Old Virgin, the over the top comedy of this movie will not survive a second or possibly third viewing...

    • There was actually a story about people named Sarah Marshall who woke up the day the ad campaign started and thought someone was stalking them....one girl's mom saw "I hate Sarah Marshall" on a cab, and called her daughter crying. They thought someone was after her.

    • I decidedly did not want to see this movie - the whole mean-billboard-marketing-scheme totally turned me off, but I went to see it based on this review, and I was not disappointed. Once again: I agree, thanks, and great job!

    • I am amazed that any one liked this or thought it was funny. vapid, un-funny, un-sexy, un- interesting. totally degrading to men and women. if this is movie making, how low we have sunk.

    • Definitely a great movie. Many quotable lines. Great performances by the whole cast, especially Segel and Russell Brand (the dude who plays the rockstar boyfriend). If you're a guy who has recently had your heart broken, this would be a great pick-me-up. Oh, and Mila Kunis...wow.

    • I've heard this movie was really funny. I like Apatow's other movies, so he'll pretty much win me over with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Did anyone see cabs with "I hate you Sarah Marshall" and things like that written on them? They were all over Chicago.

    • I agree! I thought Mila Kunis (sp?) was going to be awful. She was great and looked amazing. Laura House is great addition to the guys btw. good job Current.

    • What a great review! I loved this movie! I am so glad Harloff didn't do the review naked, that would've been terrible. Does anyone sense a little gay tension between Harloff and Jonhah Hill? I mean, just admit you're in love dude!
