Neil Young's song "Let's Impeach the President for Lying"
should be our chant until the Iraq Occupation stops and GW Bush's scrawny butt is out of our United States President's Oval Office chair. We should learn these lyrics (below) and march the streets like this great and inspiring protest march last summer in Kennebunkport, Maine.

some who have posted here think that Neil's Canadian roots discredit the message.
Look at it this way: Does it matter where truth comes from? Or is the more important question we should ask is "is this wise?"
Don't waste your mental energy beating up Neil, or any other foreigner for what they may say. Just pay attention to whether the message rings true.
And if it rings true for you, then by all means make it your mantra.
And if it doesn't work, then say how and why. It is the idea that counts. If it's not worthy beating up the messenger just makes you look small and petty.

Nationalism sucks. I don't care what country you're from if you are willing to stand up to the stupidity that is American Energy Policy, American Foreign Policy, etc. I hate to tell all you confederate flag wavers, but the north won that one two hundred years ago. Get over it. We are all in this together and the problems we face today go way beyond any borders. Oil (finding alternatives), Water, Food, and Clean Air are the things we need to be concerned about.

He has a 1500 acre ranch in Cal. so that is why he feels like he is home here. The record came out in 2006.
If you take time to listen to his songs and read the lyrics you may find he is one of the very best talents of the last 40 years. One of my favorites is, Like A Hurricane.
The list of his hit songs is long, with each one having a unique open that let's you know the song is his.

Well then write your songs like you are someone from your country expressing your feelings like you're from your country, not like you are an American citizen.

Jeez, I feel terrible mentioning the word 'Canadian.' I had no idea that Americans were so hostile towards their neighbours just because they have their own oil, mountians of lumber, diamonds, fresh water, incredible pot, and superior beer... what the f$#%@$#@ is your problem?!?

I am not hostile towarda Canadians. I just don't appreciate a Canadian writing a song about America and he keeps saying "we" and "our", so unless he is wanting to impeach Canada's leader, I believe that the song was written about America. Say "you", don't be singing like you are one of our citizens.

Have you heard of artistic license?
Artistic license (also known as dramatic license, poetic license, narrative license, licentia poetica, or simply license) is a colloquial term used to denote the distortion or complete ignorance of fact, or the changing of an established fact that an artist may undertake in the name of art — for example, if an artist decided it was more artistically "correct" to portray St. Paul's Cathedral next to the Houses of Parliament in a scene of London, even though in reality they are not close together, that would be artistic license._____________________
Neil Young is a citizen of our world and so he is affected by the ravaging his close neighbor, the USA

Interesting that a song by a Canadian is going to be used for your Mantra. What power did Neil Young give our President? Okay, I'll give him "...And milseading our country into war..", could be talking about our good neighbors to the north instead of our country. In the words of Ed King, bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, (paraphrased of course) "... An American man don't need him around anyhow....". Hey,let's get AC/DC to write a song about former President Clinton, something along the lines of "Shook Me All Night Long". If Obama wins the next election maybe The Who will sing "Won't Get Fooled Again". If McCain wins, maybe "Lola", only change the title to "Johnny" and the lyrics to "....well I'm not the world's most masculine cat but I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a democrat and so is Johnny, J J J J Johnny...". By the way, I do not consider myself a democrat, but for the record, I am not thrilled at all about the Republican nominee. Of course, when my fellow citizens have to use a Canadian for their protest song, lets you know about the state of music in America. My mantra is going to be 'Death to American Idol".

NEIL YOUNG LYRICS
"Let's Impeach The President"
Let's impeach the President for lying
And misleading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door
Who's the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
They bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war
Let's impeach the President for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones
What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government's protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop
Let's impeach the president for hijacking
Our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected
Thank god he's cracking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There's lots of people looking at big trouble
But of course our president is clean.
Thank God
