    • I didn't laugh or cry, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was what it was. A robot, stuck on earth, who helped the humans bring their fat asses back to earth. It was cute. I guess my expectations weren't that high. Where were the women commentators?

      Hey Xmych3mxloverx,

This is Kristian- Thanks for watching all the reviews. We really appreciate it. As far as your question goes- we like A LOT of movies.

      I liked The Fall
      The Orphanage
      HellBoy2
      Horton Hears a Who
      Bank Job
      Rambo
      Juno
      The Incredible Hulk
      Forgetting Sarah Marshall
      Drillbit Taylor
      Shine a Light
      Young At Heart
      Iron Man..........

Take a look at any of these past reviews.

AND I LIKED WALL-E! It doesn't reflect it in this piece but I really thought it was well done and some of best animation I have seen in a while.

We see a lot of shi%&ty movies. We see 3 a week and there is a lot of crap being made. So it may seem like a lot of reviews are negative and that's because they are! The studios do it very half assed and we are being honest.

Thanks again for tuning in! Dark Knight review will be up soon!

    • As usual, anything that is against the Current TV viewer's liberal elitist POV, is ignorant. So I guess that makes me ignorant since I thought this film was boring too.

    • I hate these guys. They bad mouth everything from Wall-E to Cloverfield. Wall-E doesn't need words to be enjoyable. They've never seen a silent film obviously, and have been diluted by the mainstream shoot-em-up crappy action movies with loads of bad dialogue. Despite the amazing animation effects, Wall-E displayed amazing body language for his limited number of appendages. The love story was incredibly cute and the message (although in your face) was powerful. These guys can blow me. Go see Wall-E.

    • At leat these are funny. The LAST thing I want to hear is a bunch of film geeks pontificate over the true meaning and art of a film. KILL ME. The point of these is to watch a range of regular joe's give their opinion. I think it's refreshing and entertaining, whether I agree with them or not. Keep them coming Current! I think there's already enough serious crap on this channel. Let's have a break every now and then.

    • I can't believe you have that same "dull thuds" reviewing films on current tv. they are clearly not the ones to review films like WALL E or any of the like. Do they know anything about film at all? Or do they get their rocks off by seeing their faces on tv constantly? Get some fresh perspectives. Or at least get more people with a greater range of movies than the Rocky series. Or did you just want to string a bunch of reviews with as many thick headed, frat boy, white guys you can find?

    • I agree that the film was beautiful, and yes I enjoyed the message, but let's be honest, most of the people in this forum are liberal green freaks who wet their pants over this kind of message, and who are taking it way to personally and seriously that regular people judging a movie by its entertainment factor (not it's improving the earth factor) found the film kind of boring. Again, beautiful in many ways, and everyone should see it at some point. But not perfect. And these guys are just joking about those imperfections, they aren't the cause of the overpollution in our world and global warming. Breathe people.

I think I can safely say that whatever these guys do or don't like, the exact opposite is true...never more so then with this movie. Clearly, these guys are retarded.

    • Other than the over-the-top interpretation of the future, I thought it was the perfect animated sci-fi, once again illuminating the most ordinary and extraordinary of human quests: to connect with another being.
Pop culture references and deep philosophical themes embedded in a visually beautiful and weirdly unique story. Robotic thumbs up.

    • Never really on board with the LD reviews and WALL-E is no exception. This is, in my opinion, an absolutely brilliant film. First, the surface: Some of the most outrageously impressive animation I have ever seen. The detail, the clarity the dimensions, all flawless. The sound design is equally impressive, with every tiny nuance and movement perfectly executed.

The depth: the characters (Wall-E and Eve) are beautifully and simply developed and the story is told with an effortless kind of grace. No, there is no talking for the first half of the movie, but it works because everything (in terms of storytelling and tech) works together harmoniously. There was no fat. This is lean, well-paced filmmaking. The filmmakers are clearly very cinema-literate, as well, as they pay homage to many of the great sci-fi gems of the past, Kubrick's 2001 in particular.

Plus, there is a message! A "kid's film" with a heart and a mind?!! Wall-E somehow pulls it off.
While some may find the message a little heavy, this film speaks to the pitfalls of over-consumption and disposable culture in a way that the younger set (that the film is marketed to) can understand. Kids will be able to take away a very positive, socially conscious message from a piece of pop-culture, a true rarity these days.

I highly, highly recommend it. It's a really fun, smart and funny film that is remarkable to look at and listen to. I'm betting it will also be the first animated feature to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.

      I loved wall-e.

Incase you guys missed it wall-e showcases the huge leap in particle effects rendering, something that has always been really challenging in Visual Effects films especially digitally animated films.

The movie had a lot of humor in it.

Over all I think bad opinions were picked out for this review.

I know a lot of people who LOVED this movie.

It says a lot about the human race, love, affection, determination and society let alone.

It doesn't take much brains to see the humor in this movie and the message.

So I'm sorry you reviewers fail epicly; I do feel bad for you.

It has meaning and wit and should make u think of how much humanity is forgetting about Earth and becoming lazier and lazier... so much so that we don't like movies with no words because that would make us use our brains. Does it really hurt that much? Like the saying goes: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Awesome movie!

    • I'm sorry, but my son and I loved it. The movie had a lot to say and the beauty was that it didn't require a lot of words to say it. So what if it wasn't realistic..., hello.., it's a cartoon. What's important is the encrypted themes hidden between the animation; the things that are truly important: love, kindness, bravery, integrity, opening your eyes to the world around you, the disconnection in society and how we need to get reconnected, our disconnection with the environment and how we need reconnection with the earth and start giving a damn before it's too late. Those are the underlying themes that this movie is trying to say.

If you're going to give a report on a movie you must find the true meaning in the movie.

If they couldn't sit through "Wall-E", I'm scared to think of what they would say about "The Fall"...

    • Can I be honest? I didn't love it. I really wanted to but I just kept waiting for more. The animation was beautiful and I did cry a few times with Wall-E and Eve. I wish there was more of them on Earth. I appreciated the message with all the fat humans but couldn't that have been done on the planet? I thought the out of space thing took me out of it. I'm a girl though so maybe I am wrong.

As far as the critics, I think a few of them were a bit harsh but I think a few of them hit it on the head. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I wanted to love it if that helps!!!

    • Hello everyone out there. This is Kristian, one of the reviewers in the piece. I don't believe I have got one response to what I have said about this film. Big deal- Sebastian/ Steve/ Mike didn't like the film. So what? It is their opinions, the film didn't touch them the way it did for the rest of you.

As far as Mark and I go, I think that because of the equal air time all the reviewers received, a lot of our thoughts were lost in translation.

I LIKED this movie a lot- my point was that I didn't love it. I had heard all of these things and I guess I set the bar too high.

THE POSITIVES: What I had said was that right away that these comparisons came right away to Short Circuit- and I think the only similarity is the look of the robot after that it ends. WALL E was a character I got behind and I rooted for from start to finish. I thought the animation was BRILLIANT. It was a well crafted film with a believable love story between two robots.

THE NEGATIVES: I thought the story had a lot of momentum until we meet all the humans. For a large part of the film (no pun intended) the pace slows down and then the love story revs up again and I thought it closed strong.

I am not asking anyone to agree with my opinion, it is your own. I appreciate everyone watching and I love you all!

It has so much hidden meaning to it, along with some in-your-face stuff, some of which is really scary..and eye-opening.
I think it had a great balance of incredible animation, a realistic feel, and a lot of messages to-well, everyone-that we need to be acting NOW.

    • You guys have never seen a silent film? That's what this movie reminded me of. It had the enderaing qualities (with some talking) of a silent film. With it heavily relying on gestures and facial expressions to get the story across.

It's nothing like Pixars previous films and that's what makes Pixar and Disney awesome. None of their cartoons are the same as the others. They each are unique and untouched by any other animated film that has been created within proximity.

There are a lot of classic films that have long beginnings without talking that are awesome and some that are not. Such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and There Will Be Blood.

Movies can be great without having logorrhoea. I think Wall-e was a laconic movie and that it was created as it should have been.

Of course not everyone is going to like it....as we can all hear. =P

      edit....
and I'd like to say that I'm throughly entertained by these reviews no matter if I agree with their opinion or not. Keep up the good job. =)

    • Swedutch,

I didn't hate this film at all and I had NO problem with the non talking in the start of the film. I thought it was one of the most visual stunning film I have seen this year live action or animation with the exception of The Fall.

My biggest problem is that all I had heard about Wall-E before I saw it was that it was the greatest animation film ever, etc... It was slow-

Without ruining anything- there is a certain part of the movie where it reaches a lull. I found the character of Wall-E endearing, I was rooting for him the entire time and I do recomend the film.

I just say- Don't expect Nemo or Incredibles or Toy Story. It is a completely diffent type of Pixar film and it has a fantastic message.

As far as seeing Guru- If you hate yourself that much and want to torture yourself- please by all means, go see it.

    • Wow, I've been turning to you guys for movies reviews for a while now but after seeing this i had to make an account just so i could let you know how wrong you are.

The animation was amazing, at times I forgot that this was a not filmed but rather created. The story and character (although looking a lot like jonny 5), were unique and interesting.

As to the lack of dialogue, a movie doesn't need to have slapstick comedy/humor to be interesting for the first 40 minutes, unless u suffer from ADHD. Learn to take in the sights they are providing you and maybe try contemplating the world wall-e lives in to get some understanding of what is going on.

Another thing, don't complain about your experience with theater goers! No one cares you couldn't find a good seat.

I am sorry but you guys have lost something, and after this - i may just have to go see Love Guru or Zohan. Because although you say those films sucked, that just might mean they were amazing.
