It's not just looks. I notice that she smiled a lot more and was much flirtier when she's made up. Not sure if it's self confidence and/or men showing indicators of interest like smiling which makes it easier for her to interact with them.

While I've noticed men behind counters offering me things like coupons and stuff when I do bother to make up to the point that I'm getting things like "wow" or "very beautiful" while showing indicators of interest (gazing at me with a dreamy smile) but none actually went as far as giving free stuff. But I guess it's because I'm extremely shy and don't have much of confidence.

And oh, wear red. The hits I get when I wear red... It's totally biological.

i agree that the asking in a slightly insolent manner as the 'non sexy' girl and then being more friendly, gracious and not asking just implying what she wanted as the 'sexy' girl was definately a major factor as the brusqueness probably made her seem like a scrounger whereas the more friendly approach made her seem like she'd just forgotten her money and didn't do this often hence it was more about attitude than looks/appearance

ok, simple logic behind it, if you don't have anything to give, you won't get anything in return.

'No-asking' got-on the bus and 'asking' can't be juxtaposed each other ,as 'maked-up' and 'natural' version of chick different behaviors can't be treated along similar lines ,as well.

I stopped watching after the sexy version got on the bus for free (without asking), and the normal version didn't (but she asked!). Perhaps it's not the sexiness, but the fact that she just went ahead and got on anyway?

I think that the smile she used as the sexi girl made her much more appealing as a peron. If she were to bat her eyes and smile the same way she did as the sexi girl then there would be a much different responce from the people. In general she might have gotten a few more things because of her sweet bubbly attitude then this would get tied to the fact that you hold yourself as more confident and plesant person when you feel prettier. what it comes down to isnt nessecarily being sexi physsically but the presence i have been dressed completly like a guy in my best friends clothing and still been offered a free drink. Its the sexi personality if she would have acted nasty and just said im pretty and flatly said you should treat me better im pretty and not smiled she would not have gotten any of the rides drinks or cake. Which i like to belive is a lie...

I though both girls had exactly the same personalities and held then self exactly the same. Its just the clothing make up and hair which was different. It made the crack look girl not have any impact at all on any of the men until the end guy in tyhe pub only for the resons she stated.

if you watch the end were she was in the pub s nobody was even looking at her compared to when she was dolled up which would have had every man call to attention.

I have to admit there is definitely a personality difference between the two alter ego's and this is probably which makes this experiment a little bias towards the dolled up ego! I would buy a drink for both ladies no doubt about it.

The pod probably says more about men than it does about "sexy" women. There is no length to what man would do to have a chance with a sex and slightly flirtatious woman. The experiment is not exactly scientific and there is a difference in behavior between the "drab" and "sexy" personalities, but what is shocking is the behavior of the men who at times completely deny that they offer nothing for free. What was not seen is how other women react to the same situations. I think what was key was the amount of flirtation and the fact that all the subjects were men. I do appreciate that there was a clear difference shown between how the two women were treated. Props the producer of this pod.

Wow, I live in Dallas known for materialism and silicone. Both sexes experience this bias in the DFW metropolis of 8 million here in north Texas. Exacerbated, by no logical or geographical reason for this many people to live in a semi-arid region with little natural beauty and conservative/uneducated GOP members reigning over all occupations of prestige and income. It's amazing to see what the media has done to people all over the world. If you play the part, others will too.

Wow! Just goes to show you...either you got it or you don't. I've met some hot women who are stuck-up snots who won't even smile. They don't get shit because they stink. I've also met some women who weren't hot or pretty but they were not afraid to smile or converse and they were very attractive due to their inner beauty...that's hot too.

Seriously?! She acted like an absolute dweeb when she was dressed like one. It was like she was trying to get rejected. She definitely improved herself (whether or not it was on purpose I dont know) when she was dressed better/more sexily. This article should be tltled "Men are stupid". But in our defense I am convinced women don't act a lot differently when facing a good looking man. For example, I recently attended my nephews wedding where his his brother Tom was the best man. Tom is 23 and a very good looking guy. In the course of the evening Tom was petitioned by an attractive older woman no fewer than three times, while several others couldn't keep their eyes on him. One of them even grabbed his ass while he was dancing. So I don't believe either sex is any worse or better than the other when it comes to this kind of thing.

As a "bloke", I am not at all surprised by the findings of this report. I would like to see this experiment tried with a male, soliciting females for goods and services. A typically "metro attractive" man vs. a somewhat unkempt scraggly man. See if it runs both ways.

A very interesting concept - not new exactly, but dealt with in a very represhing way. Piece well photographed and the presenter is excellent and I hope that she will be seen again.

ya, this wasn't exactly a scientific study where there was only one variable... looks. Personality and method also changed between takes ... especially the first one on the bus... different method. the cake one, the bike taxi one... different person she's interacting with. that's the objective reaction to this video.

but the personal reaction is, as a male, i can admit, the first thing in my head would be "how can i even spend a little time interacting with this lovely looking girl, which will brighten up my day" rather than "oh, i must hold up the rules of my job to the letter, which is a rather demoralizing task at times".

I haven't seen this presenter - Carolyn - before but shes awesome. Hopefully she'll be gracing the TV screen more in the future!

I think i realized this somewhere in my 20s. However, as women have taken on a more prominent role in the workplace, i see it happening almost exponentially. I'll never forget one day at traffic court. The very first case involved this beautiful woman who previously had an accident. As she sauntered up to the judge to defend herself, the charm was almost instantaneous upon the judge. She got off with leniency. When the next male defendant approached the judge, it was like watching The Exorcist all over again.

This is stupid and proves nothing. When she was "drab" she started every encounter with "Can I get a free _?" of course nobody is going to give you something when you ask like that. When she was "sexy" she flirted a little and actually tried some tact to get crap free. Bitch is crazy;)
