It's not even nessicary to show Biden with his foot in his mouth.
It's like showing a picture of a cow eating grass to drive home the point that cows eat grass.

* If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're"exotic, different."* If you grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, you're a quintessentialAmerican story.* If your name is Barack, you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.* If you name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you're a maverick.* If you
graduate from Harvard law School, you are unstable.* If you attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're wellgrounded.* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the firstblack President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registrationdrive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a ConstitutionalLaw professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a districtwith over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health andHuman Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senaterepresenting a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills andserving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran'sAffairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city counciland 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000
people, 20 monthsas the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualifiedto become the country's second highest ranking executive.* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a realChristian.* If you [Mc Cain] cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and leftyour disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're aChristian.* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including theproper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no otheroption in sex education in your state's school system, while your unwedteen daughter ends up pregnant , you're very responsible.* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in aprestigious law firm to work
for the betterment of her inner citycommunity, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's valuesdon'trepresent America 's.* If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least oneDWIconviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaskafrom the USA, your family is extremely admirable.OK, *much* clearer now. Now I think I understand McCain/Palin: - 3 years ago

Crab-smuggling was something that Brett struggled with in college. The sub-title of "Joe Bama." It's candidate-speak for either "Hey, Joe, we're two weeks from the election...lock it the f*ck down!" or "There's a hamster in my trousers." "Always make the tall, skinny guy the 'I'."
LMAO! Brett, you're crazy funny. I luv you! Will you marry me? (And please don't dawdle. We only have till Election Day before losing our window of opportunity as Cali's anti-gay marriage Prop 8 will probably pass, sad and retrogressive as that may be.)

My opinion is that both candidates are wise choices for the Presidency, but what really defines a good President?
A good President is one who is willing to take chances and support the overall welfare of the American people.
I believe that John McCain is a worthy candidate because he is out for the "overall good" of the people. I think his idea of change in our government is moving towards a "socialized democracy".
WHY NOT? It is a great way to attain a productive country. Look at Belgium, one of the most overlooked countries in the world.
Many other European countries have adapted similar government practices.
Why don't we have free healthcare?
Anyway, my point is we need a President who can recover the economy, the global view of the United States, and give the middle class a chance.
VOTE MCCAIN IN 2008!

evanwhartwig:
"Socialized Democracy"- I thought McCain had a very anti- socialist anything?
Your definition of a good president is solely your own perspective, which you should have stated.
I doubt any 'real' chances McCain is willing to make is only as far as the financial donations will allow.
BTW- I'm still baffled to hear of people supporting, McCain.
Wake up- he's old and out of date. Palin is young, pretty, and stupid.
Though, physical attributes have little relevance to what their policies will do. I still believe we need a new direction in America, rather than a continuance of Republican ideals.
Thus, Obama!

Actually no-- Those views would make you a NADER voter.
Neither of the major party candidates advocates a European style Single Payer system.
Both candidates want to heavily subsidize the insurance industry (who are the problem) and you will still be paying for co-pays, deductibles, and fight about pre-existing condidtions.

Hey Brett, I have a great idea. After the election is over you can start doing the "Presidential Update" and do daily comments on whoever wins the election! We will still need your political insight with the new administration.

Brockie:
Excellent suggestion, Brockie! However, Kaj Larsen's placation to Brett that he'll soon be let out of his campaign cage made it sound like Brett either has grown weary of producing the daily updates or he was a reluctant participant from the start. I hope neither is true.
Besides being very easy on the eyes, Brett can single-handedly outwit/out-write both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert on any given day. Can we say possible Emmy nomination for his Campaign Update series?
Brett, if politics isn't what you're most passionate about (and you've certainly fooled all of us), *please* pitch to Current some other Brett-a-Day series right away...before we Brett-Junkies start jonesing and getting the withdrawal shakes!!

Brockie:
Is it really hyperbole if I actually believe it? I honestly think Brett can hold a candle to any of Stewart's or Colbert's huge staff of writers, not to disparage their talent pool nor any actual statuettes that they have actually garnered.
Feel free to disagree with me, Brendan_M, and I encourage you to present your own list of political humorists who get your juices flowing, but I would suggest tit-for-tat that you go easy on the equally hyperbolic sarcasm. (And I'll be the first to admit that there was a tiny part of me--no size jokes, please!--that secretly enjoyed some of its content.) Besides, if there's even a smidgen of truth that Mr. Erlich may no longer get a boner (or even a half-chub) during his daily grind of spewing forth more copy and even more re-writes to his campaign updates, shouldn't we all the more be patting his back and rubbing his, um, ego? Performing such unbridled acts on Brett may be the only way to ensure that he will be sufficiently endowed well enough to continue exhibiting his talent with pride--and with Cialis-like stamina--as he selflessly milks every last drop of comic relief that remains in him (till he's bone-dry) in his quixotic-yet-strangely-endearing quest to add each and every one of us to his litany of conquests by repeatedly thrusting his unique sense of humor into us with reckless abandon (but safely, of course), thus forcing our funny bone down to its knees only to tease and mock it, not unlike a dominatrix who leaves her charges aching to be stimulated and begging for more. In the end (and with our help), I am confident that Brett will not only deliver but shall also leave us feeling more spent than our current 401K fund valuation and filled (ever so deeply) with an after-glow of blissful contentment right on up through the Big "O" (as in "Outcome"), when the election finally edges up to its full-blown climax as the very last twittering vote is counted and the gushing flood of final tallies is released far and wide come Nov. 4th.
With recent events being what they are, I, for one, am going to try to do my maverick-darndest to keep things positive and uplifting whenever I see an opportunity to do so. Oh, and my apologies to anyone who may not be as twisted as me to appreciate all the sexual imagery that I just supplied via a veritable cornucopia--hey, it's autumn so I can use that word!--of relentless double entendres. Peace and aloha!
