Hilarious! I've been living with Crohn's since '91 and this made me laugh out loud. Every bit is soooo true! Hard to laugh at something that can be debilitating but sometimes you just have to. Thanks!!!

My daughter was diagnosed with Crohns in 2003. After 3 years, 3 major surgeries including a colectomy, a lot of praying and faith, she's doing great today. I pray all stays well with you. Thanks for sharing.

PLease write me I have the exact same symptoms and cant shit....in fact I think I might tell my doctors about this! I cant eat BREAD and a subway sandwhich made me not crap for a week and straight to the emergency room..The pain is ever day and is unbearable!

Well, Like they say : "The best Comics sell what they know". I guess you did and did it well. Great video for teens who of course don't discuss anything like that with anyone they know. That how Dr. Ruth became so famous (Oh wrong subject).

very interesting and informative vid on a disease I'd heard quite a bit about (two of my friends have suffered/are suffering from it), though never really knew what it was. Also good to hear that though it's incurable, it seems to be able to go into remission.

Sorry to hear about your cousin... He's one of the 2%. That's actually what we called my son for a while "2%". Hey, your cousin can use that as his DJ name now! DJ 2Percent. ;-) The researchers seem to think that there is some hereditary factor in Crohn's - though no one else in our family, extended or otherwise, has it. It's just that weird f'ing switch that decides to flip on in certain people when you're about 18.

Also sorry to hear about your flare-up. I wish you the best of luck in boarding that morning choo choo. :-)

Great video Ben. My son pretty much went through the same diagnosis rigmarole as you when he first got sick. And get this - the first doctor (feh) diagnosed it as appendicitis and performed an appendectomy on my son. Naturally, he didn't get better. Several doctors and specialists later he was finally, and correctly diagnosed with Duodenal Crohn's Disease. Of course Crohn's disease of the duodenum is uncommon, occurring in approximately 2% of patients with Crohn's disease which is why they had such a hard time diagnosing it. He also went the steroid route for a short time, but rather than gaining weight, they made him hyper. Which was good sometimes, like when I wanted him to clean his room and bathroom. Never saw them cleaner before or since!
