Ronson boycotts Brits

Producer and DJ Mark Ronson has said he will be boycotting the Brit Awards because he has not been nominated in any category.

    • Well I can look at it from his angle - He does at fantastic job at what he does. He just hasn't got the approval from the Brit Awards "Jury". So he's just giving his say on why he won't be attending. It's whatever he wants to do. Leave it at that.

    • I don't like anything this guy has ever ruined but I also wouldn't go to the Brits - even if I was nominated.

      Go to some industry decided arse licking category...er, I was actually thinking of doing something which I wanted to.

      Who even watches the Brits anyway?

    • To be fair to the guy, if you read his quotes he doesn't seem like he's throwing a hissy fit so much as justifying why he probably won't bother going:

      "I think it would be a bit weird to go. I performed last year and got an award for best British male, and I worry that going when you're not nominated is a bit tragic.'

      He said it would be miserable watching another walk off with his crown telling: 'It might look a bit desperate going if you're not presenting or anything.'

      'Like, 'I won last year, remember?' It would be a bit like making me give my award over to someone else - awful.' "

      I retract that first statement. Richjm has a point; Ronson probably just thinks it would feel like turning up to a party without an invite :)
