If I wasn't familiar with the story already, I'd be pretty annoyed that you didn't alert people that you were about to reveal a spoiler.
And that's the POINT. There are a lot of blatant inconsistencies in the cartoon, and they're intentional. It's supposed to be a commercialized, kid-friendly rendition. That's why it's a parody.
