Yeah, but sickinjersey, nothin' scarier than a pothead who not only has been hittin' the pipe, he's been hitting the bottle as well. If the world is far better off with you being sober, is it better off with you hittin' a bong? Hmmm...food for thought......

With all do respect to that question the answer is no. When I drank I was not a good person.I did not really cut it as human. I was vial, and malicious.I was a danger to my self and my family's well being. Not to mention the world.I had a history of alcohol abuse and drug abuse since I was 9 years old. When I was thirteen I started using IV delivery. My life sucked bad because of substance abuse. Now I have been sober since nine months before my HIV test came back positive and that was in 93.Weed has not effected me in any negative way and now ironically enough it is a legal medicine in 13 states so far.so no.

Like 747nomad, I'm a recovering alcoholic with some long term sobriety (16 yrs, 8 mos, 7 days) thanks to AA.
Let Me clarify a definition...a "cure" for alcoholism would be something that allowed the alcoholic to take a single drink & stop, with no desire to take another.
Alcoholism is an ADDICTION, a physical & spiritual illness , where recovery is brought about by removing the craving & desire to drink through the 12 steps...it only works when a person DOESN'T CONSUME ALCOHOL WHATSOEVER.(AA truism...When You're hit by a train, it's not the caboose that kills You, but the Locomotive)
If You're one of those idiots that believes methadone CURES heroin addiction, feel free to believe this crap, too. - 3 years ago

Whatever it takes whether it be drugs or 12 steps. I guess it just depends on the person.

I like that this artical is in the comedy section, because that's what it is. I'm a recovering alcoholic and have clean time. I need to be in the net-work setting that AA provides. I need to be able to talk and relate with others with my same problem. The addict would take the pill and think of taking more, snorting it, or selling it off to others. I don.t see this be a cure for my problem. witch I have to work on every day.
