Jim Cramer Slams Jon Stewart. 'His goal was to destroy and humiliate me'

Now Cramer is revisiting the incident in an interview he recently gave to the Ohio State University publication "The Lantern" and going all out against Stewart. He accuses Stewart of orchestrating a "complete and utter ambush" and that Stewart "told my staff that it was going to be fun, convivial, no clips, but [it] doesn't matter, he's a comedian, he can do whatever he wants."
It seems questionable that Stewart, whose show is so reliant on video clips, would promise not to use any, or that Cramer, even if he received such a promise, would be so unprepared to defend himself against videos that are circulating widely on the Internet. He also reverts to calling Stewart just a comedian, which is one of the remarks that got him into trouble in the first place.

Mr. Cramer, is not an ambush if you’re caught with your pants down. Is just the truth that doesn’t like to knock the door, it just enters.

Cramer's having a "that's what I should have said" moment. Nothing more.

I was a fan of Cramer's show for years (I think it's entertaining and mildly informative) and I don't hold him personally accountable for the state of the system at all; but, he should have known what he was walking into as the pointman for CNBC against Stewart's obvious wrath.
I mean, this was the mirror image of Stewart's assault on the state of the poor standards in our news media that we saw back in 2004 on the infamous Crossfire episode. (if you haven't seen it, look it up . . . it was epic)
It's basically the same exact argument that "our news media is hurting America" that we saw in 2004. All of the same precursor arguments and criticisms were being made before the actual interviews both back then and recently.
Cramer, who prides himself on being informed and able to roughly predict the weather of the immediate future (which is at the heart of day trading), SHOULD have seen this coming . . . hell, I saw it coming the moment it was announced he was going on the show.
On top of it, I think Stewart was fair. Cramer was obviously not expecting the videos describing to people how to manipulate the system when short selling, but it was fair game.
Everything said, I think that Cramer is still a decent man who wanted to stop the shenanigans once disaster was apparently imminent (he did blow the horn on financials a year ahead of the collapse, told everyone to pull out any money they needed for the next 5 years before the market dropped below 10k, and was/is bringing attention to the loopholes that are being exploited). . . and for that I'll give him credit, but it really was to little to late.

If Cramer was expecting a fun, lighthearted interview after that week-long buildup, he's battier than I thought.

If Jon wanted to humiliate and destroy Jim it was because he lied and defrauded people. Cramer even tried to lie on the show and Jon brought out the clips. It was karmic poetry and it tasted like delicious cake.

Yeah i have no doubt that Cramer knew. He is well familiar with Stewarts show and knows the concept. It's on the Comedy channel. He knew he wasn't there for financial advise for sure. Good point Jacques.

I thought Stewart made fair points in the interview but I also think that he did kind of ambush Cramer. Cramer (or his agent) should have known better though.

Fully agree with previous. Cramer needs a piece of humility pie. Hes to full of himself and CNBC unfortunately gave him a 1/2 hour to play with. Jon did a great job exposing the issues of giving advise. Many lost a lot of money in the stock market in the last 2 years. Cramer certainly didnt help by having his buddies (read: paying customers) executives on the show touting their stock just to have the shares tumble a few days later.

Humiliation is a feeling Jim understands, because it happens to him every day,...Jon just pointed out that he should be embarrassed for his stupidity too
