St George was apparently a brave Roman soldier who protested against the Romans' torture of Christians and died for his beliefs. The popularity of St George in England stems from the time of the early Crusades when it is said that the Normans saw him in a vision and were victorious.
So he's French?!
St George is usually depicted as a knight carrying a shield with a red cross (or a banner with a red cross), sitting upon a horse and killing a dragon. As one often does.

O---Those wacky snockered Brits! (any excuse to party)
The "Georgies"; a small cult to be sure, frequently surrounded and soundly beaten by aging "train spotters". May be a sub set of the D+Ders. - 2 years ago

Let's be English and proud!
Trample on bog-dwelling Irish potato men.
Burn filthy Welsh druids.
Hammer the Scots back up to their horrible hovels.
Slap the froggy French and plunder their women-folk.
Subjugate The World.Do you not know that God in heaven himself is an Englishman!
By all that is great, by the jockstraps of Flashy Flashman, by the marmalade of our buxom maidens, by the green rolling hills of our fair and pleasant land.....
Lets get pissed!!!!!!!!
