Need To Go Pee In The Middle of A Movie? We Have An Online App For That

This is genius! Runpee.com is a site that tells you the best points in a whole database of new and classic movies to take a pee. It then has a scrambled section that will fill you in on what's happened once you return to your seat. Be sure to bring your iPhone next time you go to the pictures!

    • Yeah i couldnt work out why after having the WTC fall on him Nick Cage was now running around in a field, thought it was a dream sequence.

    • I once walked out of a screening of World Trade Centre starring Nick Cage for a pee then got lost and walked into a screening of The Wicker Man, also starring Nick Cage. I sat in the cinema for about ten minutes before realising I was watching the wrong movie.

      Classic!

You know, since some movies are showing on multiple screens I'm sure it's not uncommon for people to walk back into the wrong screen and never know. Maybe we should add turn by turn instructions to the RunPee app to help people find their way back to THEIR screen. :)

That must've made for some serious confusion!

I took my nephew (who was about 7 or 8 at the time) to see Spy Kids but we walked into drug trafficking film 'Traffic' instead (which we watched for about 10 minutes before I realised it was the wrong movie!)

    • Please, Please, Please remove the embedded RunPee from the top of the page and replace it with a screenshot. You are really messing up my site by embedding it.

    • Thanks everyone, well mostly everyone, for all your great comments. Let me address a few of the questions and comments here:
      * "Some of the PeeTimes are actually crucial plot points." I agree that some of them are fairly crucial. Like some in Star Trek but that is an insanely difficult movie to find a singe 3 minute span that is missable. At least you will know what you are missing if you use one of the PeeTimes. Many people commented that they left during the Kirk ice-planet scene only to get back to, I wont spoil it but it's a huge reveal.

*"I can't get to the site on my phone because it's all Flash" I'm a Flash developer so I wouldn't have a clue how to build it with HTML. But the iPhone app will be out soon and it will be followed by mobile versions for all phones. Just hold it for a while. :)

*"People should be able to hold it through a movie." I get that comment a lot. I for one NEVER leave the theater to pee. But that doesn't mean I can site there comfortably at the end of the film. Plus, some people just can't do it. Some people just have smaller bladders.

*I am adding a feature to let people vote for which PeeTime they think would be the best to use for a specific movie. This isn't a science. I'm doing the best I can to pick scenes that can be concisely summed up. Maybe, someday, I'll be able to get clips for some of the movies so that you can actually watch what you are missing. Wouldn't that be awesome?

If you have any suggestions or comments you can visit the blog.RunPee.com and I'll be sure to respond.

    • What a great idea, you just have to be careful you don't get punched for using your iphone in the cinema.

A giant tablet of white light could really take you out of the film and then the person using wants you to move as well?

    • I have seen Angels and Demons twice now, its a pretty good film.
I would say the time in which they say is an okish time to go but the best time is when ...

      ***SPOILER***

      ***SPOILER***

      ***SPOILER***

      ***SPOILER***

they are looking for Rapheals tomb (the first one is false and must go to the real burial site in which he was not moved to. This is the first cardinal i believe.

    • When I tried to load the page on my iPhone, I just got a message saying "Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player"

      Um, anyone else get this?

    • I was excited about this and thought it was a great idea until I actually saw which scenes they were telling you to skip to go pee. In Angels & Demons, they tell you to leave during the only good scene, and definitely the most intense scene of the whole film. In Star Trek, they tell you to leave when Pike promotes Spock and Kirk, and when Red Matter is introduced.

The Angels & Demons scene they recommended made me think maybe they're only concerned about plot and not quality, but those scenes in Star Trek were pretty plot-pivotal.

    • Wow, I could have used this when I went to see The Dark Knight. I went in there feeling pretty good, but didn't know the movie was so long. By the time Harvey Dent became Two-Face, my bladder was boiling. I'm talking about superhero Kegel muscles. I made it all the way till when Batman falls from the little rafters as the police are closing in and I had to be on the run like the Caped Crusader. When I came back, the dogs were loose and Batman was in the wind...and the movie was over.

That is 5 minutes I will never get back...but NO MORE, thanks to RunPee.com! Victory!!

      Fuck's sake.
