    • On the writing process:
"When I did Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, I had the idea on Monday and the following Tuesday it was in budget at paramount. I couldn’t walk."

On the difference between nerds and geeks:
"A nerd will be a nerd all his life. When we did The Nerd Book at National Lampoon, the nerds got picked up as if there were a lot of them at every school-and there aren't. Maybe two. There are many more geeks. A geek is a guy who has everything going for him but he's just too young. He's got the software but he doesn't have the hardware yet."

    • I'm so disappointed in Cameron. 20 bucks says he's sitting in his car debating whether or not he should go out.

He'll keep calling me, he'll keep calling me until I come over. He'll make me feel guilty. This is uh... This is ridiculous, ok I'll go, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go. What - I'LL GO. Shit. AAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH

    • Holy F&*ck John Hughs is Dead! Ferris Bueller, and The Breakfast Club were so important to me as a teenage kid that I cannot even begin to express their narrative power. Matbe his death will open up a new generation to the 80's and the events that happened then Beyond hair bands and tears for fears, John Hughs shaped the cultural zeitgiest of my teenage years more than I even know. I think I'll go out and buy a pair converse chuck taylor's covered in skulls. R.I.P. John Hughs, you will be missed.
