Hmmm, we now live in a day and age where anything you say or do online will be held against you. Facebook is like a mind field of work/professional culture topic taboos. Its like you can assume nothing there reflects your true self as you cannot answer honestly simple things like: political party, religion, etc. So then you are faced with the challenge of saying something witty that vaguely answers or dances around touchy work subjects. And then you can bore people with edited, polite, dry or pollyanna updates. Facebook rule of thumb... as what you want your parents/boss to know about you ( watch your language, withhold any Jerry Springer drama ).
Separate work/networking from friend/networking.
