THE BREAKFAST CLUB: A REVIEW

guy_gunaratne
So John Hughes Died.
Sad.
But what better way to celebrate his work than to review one of his very best movies?

I love The Breakfast Club - but I do have beef in regard to it's legacy. It's one of the most imitated movies of the last two decades but it STILL holds up against the likes of the modern day versions that are the diluted versions of the original!

Peace.

    • Breakfast club was a fine movie. But just like you said. It unleashed a completely retard stream of unnecessary teen movies. That still plagues us today.

    • Truly awesome, and I agree - there isn't exactly much going on. The kids start off as stereotypes, then the layers are peeled back to reveal their inner feelings and they all turn in to a bunch of whinging morons. But for reasons I still can't quite pin down to this day; this film rocks!

Yeah...weird that. It is a a kind of John Hughes mojo thing though, its the same with many of the other movies he's done.

Maybe it's just good cheese or maybe not. Maybe it's just that Hughes knew which buttons to press to get you warm and fuzzy but knew also to avoid the buttons that would get you gagging.

      Fine line that.
