He certainly did not look violent, the need for a tazer is sickening! Three overgrown cops could not arrest him without it? Are you kidding me? And in the back of the neck?
Not that I even agree that being a human being and standing without clothes on should be a crime.. that seems like a preposterous statement in itself. He's not wielding anything offensive under his clothes, as it turns out, most people either have a penis or do not.. so what's the big deal? And of all places Coachella is an unacceptable place for this? Give me a break.
I wish the whole crowd would have just started stripping, that would be the easiest way to stop them.. would they arrest several hundred people? Ehh, most likely not, once they shoot off their tazer it'd be stuck in the first poor soul, then what?
Police should use something called discretion. Not all cops are bad.. but they certainly didn't seem to be protecting anyone, except maybe the severely prudent.
These cops make me sick!!!

This is a good example of one group's morals imposed upon others. (lack of separation of church and state).
Personally, I think a statue of a man being tortured to death is indecent. So let's make everyone take off their crucifixes or get tazed. A free country, ROFLMFAO.
You are free to stand single file and do as you are told.
Later you will be issued an orange jump suit you will want to leave on. - 2 years ago

I'm not trained in taser use but my first thought was that the officer was trying to kill him. Is it safe to apply a taser directly over the heart, back of the head where the spinal cord and skull meet and under the neck?

unbelievable
there is no reason for any cop to act like this at any festival unless there is violence.
the system is broken and we need to do something about it.

Cops tend to get a little taser-happy, but after getting chance after chance to put his robe back on, he should have just listened.

You have to wear tye dye, it's the LAW. He reacted violently while being tazed, he wouldn't hold still.
HOLD STILL WHILE I TAZE YOU! STOP RESISTING!
Cops are the bully club. They victimize people who are victimizing nobody, this makes them the criminals. I hope more of them start getting their asses beat,...I'm a "bad guy" lol. - 2 years ago

HOLY SH*T.
Did you see that cop drop a knee into his gut?
Tat cop did not just press the knee down to hold him, he forced in into his gut with all his might behind it.That looked as if he had full intent to cause harm.
Look how big he is!!!
All that weight crashing down on you....
I would have jumped up to!!!Then he gets shocked 3-4 times to boot.
I bet these kind of cops get off on this crap.
Bunch of nut-bag adrenaline junkies trying to get a fix anyway they can.WHY DID NOBODY HELP?
If you ever see this happening YOU should take action and call for others to protect the victim if you fell they are doing nothing wrong and extreme force has been taken.
There is no law against hugging someone.
EVERYONE should have ran to the naked guy, covered him up and hugged him and not let go until the police departed. When you see injustice occurring HUG IT AWAY.
They can't arrest us all.

YES!
Drugs are medicine for dis-eased (weakened) minds and bodies. The lack of education for all people regarding drugs is the issue. Our culture lacks shaman. Plant entheogens can be valuable. Here's another 'weak minded' person on a different substance.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIlyXs8VZvo&feature=related
Idiots like this profane the sacred plants that have been used for countless centuries by people all over the world to access the spiritual realms and come into communion and understanding of other dimensions of being. There is a serious disenchantment going on in western culture, where the connection to the spirit world accessed through plant entheogens has been turned into a mass comical spectacle.
This guy makes a total ass of himself in my opinion, and is not a good role model to the over 750,000 people who have watched his video. Some state lawmakers in the USA have pushed to classify Salvia as a class 1 illegal drug from seeing so many idiots and ill-informed, irresponsible dumb asses smoking salvia and putting it on Youtube, and many have succeeded. This behavior is a result, I believe, of a lack of elders, teachers, and shaman in our culture. Humans will seek out ways to expand their consciousness weather or not they have the proper guidance, which is make all the more clear if you search for "salvia trips" on Youtube.
Here are some resources with information about the safe and responsible use of plant substances, and some history and info on shamanism:

http://ambrosiasociety.org/also look for the movie "Entheogen: Awakening the Divine Within"
Some people (like me) that use so-called 'drugs' do so respectfully and thoughtfully.

I was there. This guy was gooone, and the cops gave him sooo many chances. were they a little too rough? yes, but this guy was on a head full of acid and didn't know how to handle his trip. This story is old on top of that this happend at coachella in april, it's august. This is not news.

As far as I know when your at a concert or festival the venue is usually privately owned and has its own security staff and medical crew.
In those cases security and medical should handle the situation, Right?
Why were the officers there?
Were they on duty or off duty being paid by the venue as extra security?
Did the venue owners call the police?
I always figured the staff took care of it unless it is EXTREME like the GNR riots in Saint Louis.

the cops were there as security for the event. They usually don't mess with you unless your this guy, a guy dressed as a wizard that took all his clothes off and refused to put them back on because he was so gone on acid he didn't know what to do. Now if you watched the video you'd see they were going to let him go scott free, however he refused to do so they went in to arrest him or at least take him to detox and he resisted thats when the tazers came out. As you can tell in the video the tazers didn't even phase him he just kept going on how beautiful everything was. Now the croud was pretty hypocritical because they booed the cops and said the whole world is watching but did they do anything? no. Now i hear all these people that said they'd help him on here but would you really? I highly doubt it. I didn't do anything because in my mind he kinda asked for it. He didn't have a buddy with him when he did acid (always use the buddy system) and obviously didn't know how to handle his trip. It was stupidity that got him in trouble and the cops were just doing their job. They subdued him, put him on a cart and took him away. Now if you want to blame anybody blame the festival that uses cops as security because they're going to play by the law.

The festival should have had Rock Med there http://www.rockmed.org/
Cops should NEVER even be allowed into a festival.
Cops are thugs. In 21 years of being in and around music, intercity, party atmospheres I only seen fist fights and never seen a fight at a music fest. By far the most violence I have ever seen is by cops. Who has FUCKING MURDERED over one million Iraq people? The USA (and it's buddies) military!
Time to wake up folks..... It would not have been good for music festivals in general, but it would have been fun to see about 200 of those people serve a lil' justice? But as the great Republican Minister / Civil Rights Activist said "Violence Begets Violence" Martin Luther King - 2 years ago

I don't know the rules and guidelines of the festival, but if he wasn't really disturbing or harassing anyone at the festival then was there really a need to assault and arrest the man?
Even if there was a "need" to remove him from the grounds, and even if he was resisting, there were 3 over-sized police officers present. There was no need to taze him twice other than pure laziness.
The slogan really should be changed:
