Conservative media now claim Obama's plans to indoctrinate children were "thwarted"

WakeUpPeople
Responding to President Obama's September 8 back-to-school address, the text of which was posted online on September 7, several conservative media figures have echoed Florida Republican Party chairman Jim Greer's assertion that Obama altered his speech after "the White House got their hand in the cookie jar caught." Numerous media conservatives, as well as Greer, had previously made the baseless charge that Obama would use the speech to push an ideological agenda or indoctrinate children.

Greer: "Now that the White House got their hand in the cookie jar caught, they changed everything."

White House spokesmen stated that the speech was not changed as a result of conservative complaints.

So, are we supposed to believe that these valiant conservative media pundits saved our children from an imminent socialist attack that they imagined up? And now they are the heroes because the imaginary attack never happened? Either Fox is writing Cheney's script or Cheney is writing their script, because I've heard this danger "thwarting" hero story before.

    • Hooray for over-reacting on assumptions!

How do you "thwart" an attempted indoctrination that was a media fabrication in the first place? How is assumptions and allegations "credible news reporting"?
How can they even begin to KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt what was in the original speech text?

This is all hearsay, but I guess that's just FAUX showing off it's "Journalistic Integrity".

    • The original text of Obama's speech began:

"To the children of America, I have only this to say - LOOK INTO MY EYES!!! SLEEP!!! SLEEP!!! YOU ARE COMPLETELY UNDER MY CONTROL!!! NOW GO KILL YOUR PARENTS THEN READ DAS KAPITAL!!!"

Thank God these brave souls of the tinfoil hat brigade averted the disaster.

    • Split. Right down the middle. A Civil War of words and beliefs is upon us. Less and less moderates,... more and more radicals. Which means more fear, conspiracies and pure hatred -- from both sides. It's a pretty durned scary world,... and us throwing sticks and stones and names at each other only intensifies our problems.

So,... what can be done to unite us? How do we spread empathy, glorify peace and, overall, act with intelligence and kindness??????? By verbally attacking, accusations, name-calling, plain ol' bigotry???

How do we unite? For political reasons,... AND for global reasons??? I would really love to know.

    • No, they do not represent conservative in any way shape or form...... they are radicals. period.
I am conservative; in my dress, my beliefs, my spending, but I happen to believe that not everyone thinks like me nor should. I am willing to discuss issues.
Fox News and their 'ilk' are like a drunken brother-in-law shouting in your face to make a point at a family function. And I apologize to brothers-in-law everywhere.

    • I hate it when they insist on calling Faux News and the jackass coorespondents on its shows "conservative". They sure didn't give a rat's ass about the Constitution when GWB was doing his best to regard it as a purely historical document. They sure weren't conserving balance of power between Federal branches or balancing budgets.

If spare use of reason or honesty is what they are referring to, then I'll concede. In that case, the Republican party and it's advocate Faux news has been VERY conservative in the last few years.
