Wait, maybe I haven't had enough coffee this morning but how is this fake news? Because she is getting a good opening shot? If you watch any show filmed in front of a live audience you will notice a producer or stagehand pumping up the crowd at the opening and closing credits. Does this mean Ellen DeGeneres' as no fans?

Fox News, huh? I remember years ago when NBC made up a story about exploding gas tanks on Chevy trucks- they ran a Chevy Citation into the side of a pickup, and, thanks to the special effects department, the truck "exploded". They used some FX to produce an "explosion". Lawsuits ensued (naturally), and NBC wound up eating crow- admitting the whole thing was a hoax. So made up stories on the evening news is old stuff, the leftist media outlets originated made up news (This was years before there ever WAS a FoxNews........)

What do you expect. It was profitable. This was always marketed as a product not a movement. That is why its actual make up was so diffuse and on so many topics. In the end the people weren't sure what they were buying just that they wanted it and it came from Fox.

BO you know; if i knew 70,000 people were coming to talk to me,; especially to talk bad about me. if he had any defence he should have stayed and pleaded his case. but he ran away . like he does when fox asks for an interview. like when 3.5 million people tell him to talk about cannabis reform..welcome to ACORNGATE

I won't even discuss any further what label you care to use. None of that matters. The only point I am making is the more you talk about Fox News, the bigger an audiance they get. So go ahead and keep on talking up Fox News. You realize they get more PR here at current then all the other news sources combined. Thats Great news for Fox News. They love all the PR you and the rest of you haters give out.
Personally I think there should be at least 5 stories on Current every day telling us all what Fox had to say. Shit do a nightly recap of their daily show. The exposure you give to Fox News would cost them a fortune in advertising costs. I like to write about Fox News just so I can continue to write the words "FOX NEWS" and give FOX NEWS more PR. - 2 years ago

I am sure this goes on at every live news type event. Whether it's the Todays show doing an out door shot or GMA doing one or any other outdoor event that is being filmed.
You people really need to get a real cause to get behind that will benefit you in the long run. The more you run Fox news into the ground the more you make some folks wanna watch it. I never watched Glenn Beck until a few months ago when you all started giving him hell. Now I DVR him. His show is great. He single handedly brought down Van Jones. He was instrumental in getting Acorn's funding stopped, and I just can't wait for every new show to see who he will go after next.So go ahead and continue to belittle Fox news as often as you want. Their ratings are well above the rest and your bad PR is not working. Yeah it's cute the way all of you think Fox news sucks and lies and what not, but in the end, You ain't changing shit. More people watch, more are informed and you all just go on clinging to the I hate Fox news.

Where do I even begin? First of all, your response to a major ethics violation is, "I'm pretty sure other people might do it, so it's probably OK." Heidi Noonan decided that sensationalism was more important than journalistic integrity, and none of her colleagues stopped to ask if this was such a good idea.
You then tell us to "get a real cause to get behind that will benefit [us] in the long run", citing Glen Beck's valiant efforts at thwarting community activism and slinging mud at someone for having views different than his own. Such a thing would be "great".
You finish by telling us that no matter how hard we try, we can't make Fox follow basic journalistic principles, Their ratings are just too high! And as we all know, ratings are everything. Always.

Getting a crowd to cheer is a major ethics violation????
What do you call rangels inability to pay taxes even though he is chairman of the ways and means committee?
If you want to call showing tapes of Van Jones speaking as slinging mud I suppose that is your right. Maybe had Van Jones not said all those things about the evils of White Men and "whitey" in general and admitting to being a communist, There wouldn't have been any mud to sling. Van jones created his own problems with his own words. They always say, be careful what words you use today, tomorrow they may be used against you.....looks like van jones never heard that statement.
I never said anything about Fox News not following basic journalistic principals....you did. Nice try though.
FOX NEWS. I just love writing it. How many times in a day does the words FOX NEWS appear on current do you think? I am sure FOX NEWS is happy about each and every time. Like I told the other guy. Mention FOX NEWS as often as you can. Do a nightly article here on FOX NEWS so FOX NEWS gets as much PR as FOX NEWS can handle. The folks at FOX NEWS say thank you.

It's not getting the crowd to cheer it's why you are getting them to cheer and whether you make clear or obfuscate what you are doing. If the woman was getting the crowd to cheer her reporter like they do on morning TV or for ay studio audience this would be normal. but she was getting them to cheer a speaker and then trying to make it look like they were covering something they were not influencing.

Again, I battle the strange compulsion to type very fast, using all capital letters, knowing that when you read it, you may think, "Hey, that moron has nothing of substance to say, and so he's covering his lack of ability to form a cogent argument by screaming and name-calling!"
I surely wouldn't want you to think that, because I would have to reassess my rage and ask myself if I am mad at something someone posted or if I am, instead, working out the agony I felt when Aunt Millie told me I could not sleep with Cousin Edwina.

are they crowd coaching the people watching the caster do live coverage a la "Good Morning America"? or was she crowd coaching the crowd that was protesting?
If it was claimed that the coached group was the protesting crowd and did not make clear that they were attracted and coached for the shot then yes, fabrication. It is clear in the shot that they are being coached, but they are not looking at a FOX reproter they are looking at a speaker. Things that might have made this acceptable could include the woman being on her day off (unlikely since she seems glued to her cell phone), the woman wearing an indicator that she was (didn't see one) or the woman merely not slinking away when she discovered she was on camera.
IMHO I'll have to go with borderline at absolute best it's not fabrication on the level of forging a birth certificate, or, as Slarabee mentioned, throwing the whole thing in the first place, but it is right in there.

Journalistic ethics is pretty rigid. (or used to be) One example of fabricating news I remember seeing in a movie on he subject was a camera man moving an empty soldiers boot to another area to make a shot more poignant. IIRC This was enough to get the reporter's story pulled or something. I wish I could remember the name of the film.

That's the thing:
This isn't a "game". It's news, and news stations aren't supposed to be biased or involved in making the news.
Like when the 2 current journalists were captured, they could have exploited the two by plastering their faces all over the internet and other news stations to give the station publicity. However, they buried every news story that came up, censored every news story that hit the site(much to the displeasure of many users on this site, including myself), and didn't mention the situation until the journalists were safely home in America.
Current gives a damn about their employees and what they do; Faxed News only gives a damn if they get caught with their pants down. If you didn't come here to take advantage of creating news, commenting on stories, and otherwise participating in an innovative and edgy news site, then why are you really here?

Faxed News hasn't told the truth since Rupert Murdoch took over the reigns of News Corp and started faxing news to the news offices.
Since then, it's just been the long arm of media misinformation, sensationalized and tabloid journalism, and ad hommeim attacks on other news companies, journalists, satirists, comedians, politicians, citizens, and any voice dissenting to the half-truths and full-lies told by Faxed News.

Guarantee someone will come in an say there's nothing wrong with this. But if Faxed News is supposed to "cover the news", then why is it becoming involved in the news story?
This is a rally a broadcaster began the movement for in the first place, then the network had the audacity to claim the other networks didn't cover the story, when other news outlets from national to independent had this story under a microscope.
