I love science - it's exciting . I would do that "experiment" purely because its fun . Research ? Nah , we just enjoy blowin' things away . That mad scientist concept ? It's real . There is the "good " kind of crazy and the "evil " kind .... they like the term "amoral" actually . They consider it subjective .

Wow, could we use this reaction to create engines to power our cars.
The Gummy Bear powered Tesla like roadster?

So, is she getting paid by the government for this research, or is she just bored and doing it on her own dime? Either way, it's a complete waste of time and money.

I guess if Gummy Bears didn't eat so much sugar they wouldn't have to worry about swimming in Potassium Chlorate lakes ..., but then, why would they want to anyway?

If you put them in high molarity hydrogen peroxide they also make a pretty good rocket fuel, but so do most things.

OMG! This is how we're going to go! Forget 2012... gummy bears dropped into test tubes go boom! Why hasn't this been used in a movie plot yet? It's a shocking timely discovery. Be very afraid....

I think she means this reaction only happens to these types of gummy bears. Or perhaps she is quide sadistic and is revelling in the torture of a little baby bear....mmmmm " the reactions said to be product favoured...............(what u didnt hear) DIE DIE DIE my favourite little gelatine gummy!"

what does she means with "product favored?"

In every reaction there is an equilibrium between reactants and products. All she means is that this reaction favors the products more heavily than the reactants. ie. The reaction uses up most of the reactants.

It means that the equilibrium of the reaction is heavily biased to the products of the reaction. As in, you're not getting that gummy bear back. It's not the specific brand of gummy bear, you could drop anything in with glucose and get a similar reaction. However, it's much more fun to torture helpless gummy bears.
This is a classic example of glucose oxidation, It's quite amazing as the amount of energy shown in the video is released in your body when you eat that gummy but the reaction is far more controlled. I'm not much of a biology person so there is a better way to explain this but, in short, your body releases the energy using a multitude of intermediates. That's why you don't explode when you eat.
