Regarding Star Trek in #1, the humans and all of the humanoid alien species in the series shared a common ancestry with a space-faring species that existed billions of years ago.
Regarding that, I don't see much wrong with #2, either.Other than that, this is a good list.

I see it as we're more limited to what we see as an alien life form, considering we've only encountered organisms that usually have limbs. It's more that we don't have the imagination to grasp some sort of conceptual living thing that's not humanoid form. Take a look at all other alien looking things from other sci-fi stuffs, such as Alien and Predator. Both things walk on two legs, have arms, head and torso, a much similar design to a human and other commonplace species on earth.
