A Southern California immigrant rights group on Friday asked Target stores and a costume company to stop selling a Halloween “illegal alien” costume it said is offensive to immigrants.

    • ...but.. this is actually funny! And why should legal immigrants be upset about a negative depiction of an "illegal alien" (which this is decidedly NOT anyway) when illegal aliens give legal immigrants a bad name?

    • F.M.--------generally speaking,....that IS the way comedy works. NOBODY likes to slip on the banana,....and everyone hates it MORE when it is noticed. -----If it is a married male=stupid husband joke,....black dude= racist joke, secretary=sexist joke,.....etc. NOBODY -wants to be that person,....universally. Comedy is Tragedy you are trying to work through.
      Hence---------the value of learning to LAUGH at YOURSELF; liberating to the individual,....then you move on.

      I think a green Martian would be a good mix with the orange jumpsuit! (also works well with the "green card").

    • Offensive to immigrants?
      Are people supposed to think that all "illegal aliens" are extraterrestrials? That they are from "hostile planets", rather than another, probably third world nation?

      Bad taste, waste of time and energy.
      Not offensive to immigrants, humiliating to the creator of the suit for having nothing better to do.
