Larry David Blasted for 'Curb' Episode Where He Urinates on Jesus Painting

According to our self appointed masters, the Anti-Defamation Leage, Dr. Makow was not very far off in his statement that what Larry David would have been classified as a hate crime should the situation had been reversed and let's say a white Christian male had urinated or splashed upon a Menorah or any other jewish religious symbol:

What Larry David did is not exactly a hate crime, but it's as close as one can get to a hate crime, and even moreso that it was broadcast to millions of people. This is from the framework of the ADL's hate crimes legislation. The ADL were the authors of the hate crime bill that Obama just signed yesterday:

This is not the first time Christ has been blasphemed in this fashion. In 1987 a photographer won a publicly- funded prize for a picture of a crucifix with Jesus submerged in a vat of urine. It was called "Piss Christ."

1. No Christian would keep a portrait of Jesus in the bathroom. Only an arrogant, disrespectful, ignorant person like Larry David could imagine that.

2. No writer with respect for human dignity and decorum talks about toilet accidents. What is this childish fetish comedy writers have with bodily and sexual functions? Is this the last taboo?

3. This scene would be classified as a hate crime if it were aimed at anyone but Christians. Imagine the reaction if he peed on a Menorah, an Israeli flag or a Koran? I don't believe this scene is an accident. It's a deliberate attack on the Christian majority, designed to humiliate, shame and disinherit.

Ironic, the Christians are pissed.

Hm. Free speech is great and funny as this may be, I still find it offensive. It is sad that a symbol people found deeply meaningful 200 years ago is now disregarded as a tool for mockery. I am a spiritual person and I found nothing wrong with the episode! I love the show. I'm black and to see Larry with the black family living in his house is gut-busting-funny to me. The way they interact together is so funny. I love it. It's all in good fun people, relax!!!!!!!!

And to think, if only they had watched South Park. This episode would be a walk in the field.

I am Christian and I like Curb; I'm also Libertarian. While I don't think I would find this particular part of Curb that amusing (I have yet to see it), I don't have the right to be unoffended by someone else. If I end up finding it too distasteful, I will stop watching the show (and thereby supporting it with my money). That's how this country is supposed to work!

By the way, once more people figure out that they don't have the right to be unoffended, this country will greatly improve!

As they have you believe from reading the title and, to a lesser extent, the article, the Larry David character put a picture of Jesus on the toilet and pissed on it. Far from it. *Spoiler Alert* His super-powerful stream splashed a single, ricocheted drop on the painting. (:D) Ridiculous, I know, but it needed clarification nonetheless.
