The musical cosmos have been tilted out of balance for quite a while now, violently thrown askew sometime between when the first fake guitar rolled off an assembly line in China and the first time a child recognized the Beatles on the radio as "that song from my Xbox!" Today, as we watch a young lady with a flute totally pass for a Very Serious Yelling Man with a facial tattoo, it feels like, in some small way, order has been restored.

thats an easy way to tell if a song is well written, take the chords or the melody and play on a simple instrument like a piano or flute. you would be surprised how many heavy metal, rap, EDM songs are well written.

er, actually avenged sevenfold has a fairly famous guitarist and drummer... they're no les paul and john bonham but they are quite musically gifted... I'd like to see you play an instrument at their level, oh wait, you can't. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean they aren't great musicians.

Yea, its pathetic enough to "Play" a fake, plastic guitar, and the drums in RockBand at least required SOME talent in drumming. But to actually trick the system into this. This is actual talent, and proves there is SOMEONE who plays Guitar Hero and Rockband and whatnot that KNOWS how to play an instrument.

Hey now... I enjoy playing the plastic guitar! And expert mode is quite challenging!
And I can play the trumpet, tenor saxophone, and piano as well. There is no need to call Rock Band pathetic. It's just a game; it's entertainment.

I dislike the word "pathetic". Its only use is to harm others, and it makes the user seem as if he/she is somehow perfect in respect to whoever he/she is using it on.
So I'm not playing a "real guitar" when I play guitar hero. Question: who cares? I'm playing a video game. How is it "pathetic" that I'm enjoying a bit of my free time by playing a rythem based video game? When I play sports games, I'm not actually playing professional football. When I play guitar hero, I'm not playing arena rock to a million people, but it's still fun. If you think it's pathetic, then please choose a better word. That's better than fouling up public discourse with your mean-spirited language.
