New study concludes large breasts linked to intelligence

Breast tissues grows as the result of estrogen and progesterone production. Estrogen helps with cognitive functioning and progesterone helps with concentration. So, I guess this makes actual sense.

These case studies are hilarious. I'm sure fat mammary glands equates to a higher brain function *rolls eyes. What's next? Small elbowed men are more likely to become astronauts? We all love big tits, we don't need to start making up studies to promote them.

That may be true, Julian, but if they did, someone could do a study about why smart guys would go to so much trouble to be around and investigate in detail, big boobs attached to smart women. I would posit that it is a very clever mating strategy. That is the wonder of human sexual selection. One more Saturday night.

this has got to be one of the stupidest studies I've ever heard of, what a complete waste of time and money. There are actual problems to solve in this world.

I wouldn't care if were made a "fact". I would never believe that women with bigger boobs are smarter. Excluding the fake big boobs, those that have them are not smarter than those that don't. 1200 women are not enough and I don't know how this study explains why Asians are so much more likely to be smarter in math and Asian women are not known to have bigger boobs--for the most part.

Hold on...it never specifies what "Big" means. That's a huge loop hole in their research. "Big" could be "deliciously grabbable" or "overflowing in researcher's reasonably sized hands."

No wonder my girlfriend watches reality tv all the time.

Research on anything having to do with human sexuality is very difficult and prone to be misunderstood and interfered with. While this study is naturally a bit funny, I don't think it is an unreasonable thing to look into. I think it should be very clear that many, many human traits are, to some extent, the products of sexual selection. Sexual selection is now probably the strongest selector in human evolution these days. We shouldn't let our hangups or our cup size or penis length interfere in our efforts to understand where we come from (i.e. what got our ancestors off).

Making the claim that breast size, small OR large, has anything to do with a person's level of intelligence, is about as idiotic as saying skin color has something to do with IQ.

The "Big Boobs = Stupid Woman" stereotype that these idiots claim to be working to disprove has to do with women that are stupid enough to get big honkin' breast implants. If you're so vain and insecure that you make the decision to voluntarily go under the knife just so that you can get some fake materials inserted into your delicate breast tissue in the hopes that more people will find you attractive in this world, then you probably weren't a braniac to begin with. Smart people know what a stupid idea unnecessary cosmetic surgery is.

yeah, i was wondering about the natural selection thing not being mentioned as well. There is a study called Gender Differences in Mate Selection Preferences:
A Test of the Parental Investment Model by Feingold done in the early nineties and in the introduction it describes what women and men prefer. Typically, men care more about physical appearance and women care more about class and intelligence.

Also, what about weight of the women and proportion, because heavier women tend to have larger breasts.

This means I am really smart.

So, why wouldn't there be a sexual selection link here? Women, in general, are known to prefer men of higher intelligence, and men prefer women with bigger boobs. Therefore the female offspring are more likely to share both traits. But still, it seems awfully hard to hook up with smart, big boobed women. I guess they can afford to be more selective, you think?

lol, great stuff. My question were they natural women? I am guessing so, but just curious. I come from a family of extremely well endowed, tall, intelligent women who have went on to do great things for their communities and lives. I say it is believeable in some cases. I was reading by age 2 and at 20 am now a 36H.

So... when I gained weight, my boobs got bigger. When I lost the weight, they got smaller again... Hmmmm
What am I supposed to make of that? Ice Cream makes me smarter? LOL

The title is misleading. What the article is saying is that its not the boobs that determine the female IQ. Big or small does not determine brain power just boob power. lol
