Really, Japan? According to CNNGo Tokyo, the Commander-in-Chief has gotten his own verb, after it was passed around on a Kyoto University mailer and mentioned on Twitter. Once.
Apparently this sort of thing isn't unheard of. Back when President Bush (the first) went and visited Japan, he lost a tennis match to Emperor Hirohito and later that evening at a dinner party, he ブシュした (Bushu shita) -- did the Bush thing and vomited in public.
Of course, these words never really made it into the public's lexicon, as most people have never even heard the terms, especially college students, where the phrase "obamu" is supposed to be popular. Perhaps I should start using it in my daily conversations? Perhaps I can keep the word alive!

It really interesting to see how Obama's message of hope has been so powerful that it stretches all over. I mean it's essentially a verb. How many presidents can say that their campaign slogans are worldwide verbs?! Although I must admit that the Bush I verb is quite comical.

hmm, well Iraq is pretty fubar now. uhhh...he backed out of the Kyoto Protocol which pretty much crushed a global response to greenhouse emissions and, according to some scientists at least, sped up the rate of environmental damage done by global warming. lets see....he destroyed our international reputation which will certainly take years of careful diplomacy to repair. hmm...yeah....i guess that isnt enough to say that he fucked up the planet, i mean, he wasnt able to bring about the rapture or anything.
