    • "They all look like they could be stoned to me" as mojo juju says. Perhaps. But you don't necessarily have to have the magic juice to absolutely know that Mathew McConaughey, and especially Cameron Diaz are on a permanent peace keeping mission from God. Her eyes have as much glaze as a Dunkin' Donut. The Saturday Night Live news with Tina Fey is looking for classic photos like hers. If a photo could
talk that one would say: "Like Wow, man " "Did anyone get the number of that bhang ? " For the camera you need mastercard, but Cameron's comical expression-priceless. Nothing you can do that can't be done. Nothing you can't sing that can't be sung. Nothing you can say, but you can learn how to be you in time, It's easy. Intro those lyrics with some imperial hail Britannia majesty chords, then fly the friendly skies. The Beatles knew. Both John Lennon and George Harrison were Bhuddists too. The sacred herb will outlive humans on this planet. Vincit Omnia Amor.

    • It doesn't bother me, and I've never even tried smoking anything, ever. As long as they are productive and I don't have to breathe the smoke or kiss them immediately afterward, let them have their weed. Too much money and effort is spent trying to control pot. It's such a waste.

    • They will not flat out legalize the Herbs. They may make medical cannabis legal. They have no way to tax what can be grown in one's closet. Not that I would grow in my closet but I know folks that do. I grow in the shower that way it get plenty of water. ;-)

    • We are still jailing millions of people for possession and smoking a little plant. We are still attempting to control people's lives because of a little plant. You smoke weed, then people think your lazy. However, weed smokers have to work to smoke weed because weed costs money. Movie stars work and smoke weed because they can afford it and no one will make them take a drug test to prove they didn't. They won't be fired because the flunk a drug test.

We are accommodating for rich and affluent people while demonizing the poor and underprivileged for the sake of drug laws that are outdated and keeping our prisons too crowded to house murderers and rapists. Something needs to changes, and fast. Legalize marijuana and stop punishing non-violent smokers because of propaganda. Alcohol has killed more people than weed ever will.

    • I love how people make it a part of their ego. "Weed never hurt anyone" "legalize it man!". Shut up hippies. I smoke every day but it's not cause it's cool or something to do with people. It's usually a solo effort. If you need drugs for identity then you need to pick up a hobby or 2. Oh and meth guy, that's great that you don't think it's bad for you. But meth and H DESTROY many lives and families. And should be illegal. Some folks aren't that strong.

I don't think President Obama realizes how many people would welcome the walk out of the closet. Or, how many people would appreciate the jobs created by the utilization of hemp to make environmentally friendly products. Reclassifying cannabis would not use up President Obama's political capital. I think it would increase his poll numbers. It's time to end the war on cannabis and hemp. He 'could' provide the leadership we were 'hoping' for.

I believed him when he stated, "The war on drugs has been an utter failure. We need to rethink and decriminalize our nation's marijuana laws." -Barack Obama, January 2004

Now that he has the power to invoke the change, he lacks the spine?

    • Who cares? This is the number one story in NEWS right now. Perhaps this is an indication of the current state of CURRENT. It's pathetic.

exactly! I couldnt help but notice the news shift from REAL stories to stuff about celebrities or the same generic things we see in the newspapers, i used to really enjoy current as it was such a good alternative news source, now im not too sure whats happened, where has all the important news and discussions gone too! have people simply stopped posting it or is it something my sinister on currents side.

    • I often see pot users bashing other drugs. Not sure why. Meth is awesome when not overdone. It's the "gateway" to getting everything DONE!. lol.
I've tried most drugs including heroin. Addicted to cigarettes maybe. Never anything else. Booze sucks. I recommend any other drug than booze or cigs, even heroin or meth.

    • The only damage I've seen done on people who smoke a lot of weed, is to the contents of a refrigerator. A little weed never hurt anyone.

unless you suffer from panic attacks, anxiety or have a history of mental illness in your family.
At the end of the day the THC interacts with you brain to scramble/distort the signals that are firing between neurons in your brain. This impairs motor skills, judgement, short term memory and cognitive ability to a certain degree. But it's different from person to person.

I don't mean to sound anti weed because I'm not. I smoke it everyday after work but I don't fool myself that it is completely harmless.

It's true that there are hundreds of drugs which are more harmful including tobacco, alcohol and a lot of prescription drugs but they are all also very addictive. THC is not.

I have to agree with cadex. My husband is schizophrenic, and if he smokes weed his voices attack him and he starts hallucinating. Last time he smoked weed, he tried to cut his own hand off, and got halfway finished before passing out.

I am bipolar, and if I smoke weed, I have panic attacks and eventually a breakdown. After one episode of smoking weed, I stabbed a guy five times and pulled entire chunks of my hair out.

I agree that for perfectly normal people, it's great. It relaxes you, makes you laugh, and relieves a lot of maladies. But for the mentally ill, it's touch-and-go.

get some pcp if you want to violently lose control.

friend of mine smoked some pcp and threw his friend down some stairs then jumped out of a window on the fourth floor. broke both his legs.

oh yeah, you gotta be mentally unbalanced in the first place to suffer the damaging side effects of smoking weed.
If your already a bit paranoid/self destructive/depressed/aggressive then it will make you much worse.
If your creative, happy, confident and friendly then it will amplify those feelings to make you a much more happy high flyer.

one of the biggest dangers with weed is that people smoke it at a young age when their brain is still developing and it can distort the natural development leading to problems later on in life. Also, teenagers are quite a depressed and self-critical bunch so when you throw weed into the mix it can get a bit hairy.

Best to wait until your 20's really.

    • Anyone can smoke weed, but as a celebrity, to come out and support it and risk your image to ignorant people who don't know a thing, is admirable, like woody harrelson, who has narrated a brilliant marijuana documentary i watched a while ago.

why do you say half? why not 2/3? 1/4? all of them? your just pulling numbers out of your ass because you believe all the shit about pot being a gateway drug. most of the people i know who smoke, just smoke. most of the people who do hard drugs and prescription drugs dont smoke. I'll tell you what, I'd rather smoke than drink, or do powders, or pop pills. Weed is not a drug, it's an herb, better for you than cigarettes.
