Interviewing Sarah Palin Supporters at a Book Signing

UrbanGypsy
This is powerful. It had been awhile since I last looked at one of these videos. Are these the type of people that support Sarah Palin?

    • This was a pointed attack to try to belittle an incredible woman. She believes in small gov. She has the same "policies" as do most republicans and conservatives. She doesn't have any bills written because she is not in office. Asking "what her policies are " is confusing. Ask what her belief in abortion is, or does she support troops would have been more profesional as a reporter. He didn't want to report but to belittle a amazing woman.

    • Some of palins supporters might not know the issues, but Obama not knowing a yr after being elected is most shocking. A year ago he said he had a plan for every issue he was asked about. Out of Iraq, more troops to afghan.,(the real war he said). After a yr he has sent more troops to iraq, and still hasn't decided what to do in afghan.

    • "Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary."
      - H.L. Mencken (1918)

Say what you will about Palin's supporters, but think of the ingenuity that it took to get all of those poor bastards together and yapping the same tune is kind of scary on more that a few levels. Either her handlers are playing up the image of her "real" American persona just a bit too well, or she's a lot smarter than any of us give her credit for.

After all, I'm thinking that it takes some serious brains to control that much concentrated stupidity.

Mencken quote is right on. It seems that you have a point also in that Palin's popularity and ability to get all of the those people together and say how "real" she is but have no substance to that statement.. it is scary.

    • Her fans (note I use the word fans not supporters) are as clueless as she is. She sadly is a rock star and it seems like that's all it takes in this country. A few corny lines can land you a job in politics.

    • Priceless. Her supporters are absolutely brilliant. Goes to show what cuts in education over the last 30 years have done for America.

    • Sarah Palin is a moron....she has the brain of a very small insect...a praying mantis trying to inflict the public with her randomness....she can't even make a reasonable statement about what she stands for and i certainly do NOT look to her as a woman of substance.....she couldn't even run Alaska !!!!

I agree, people usually hitch their wagon to what seems the best fit. I work at the polls every six months and people can't always tell you why they picked a particular candidate when put on the spot but they make the decision for what is the best fit for them.
I think the fact that she seems like she's for the old American values and reasons we grew as a great nation AND the fact that she is doesn't have a infallible public persona makes her identifiable to many Americans.
Will she win the White House? I doubt it, unless she has an awful lot of grooming in the next few years!
