Happy Thanksgiving: An Impish Alfred Hitchcock Carves Your Holiday Turkey!

Image

The acclaimed fashion photographer John Rawlings snapped this picture in 1956 of an impish Alfred Hitchcock carving a holiday turkey in the "21" Club, a celebrated New York City hot spot. The famously humorous poet Ogden Nash penned a little verse about Hitchcock to accompany the droll photograph, writing: “ Pick a Hitchcock of opulence rather than corpulence, just pleasingly plump with a snug silhouette, to embellish the board when the places are set, for the ultimate test more closely examine it, the Hitchcock supreme has a wide streak of ham in it."
