Oh my, this scene is a wonderful surprise, it's like discovering Alladin's magic lamp way down in the darkness of the subway system! The textures of this photograph are masterly, the contrasts of concrete, tile, steel and grout. The little lamp's just quietly sitting there on it's own little “no traffic” zone, a pearl set in gold. But no bulb, no shade? Man, those MTA budget cuts are getting brutal!
