Most Vile Politician in America Hellbent on Vanquishing Muslims

Lynne Torgerson—who is running against Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), a popular, well-respected U.S. Congressman—wants to stop the "globalization of Islam" and "Ellison [who] is a Muslim." She cites 9/11, Fort Hood, and the book Muslim Mafia as evidence.

It is our patriotic duty to ridicule this woman and her bigotry. She's hit the national stage despite describing herself as "apolitical" but for her disgust for Ellison, who, in 2006, was the first Muslim elected to Congress.

From her campaign website:

"Keith Ellison is a Muslim, a person who was raised Christian and converted to Islam. ... Now, with all due respect, America, and its people, should be lauded for its goal of promoting to public office and other high ranks, people of color, women, minorities, etc. However, quite frankly, in our zeal, we simply went too far with Keith Ellison. Keith Ellison simply is not a proper person to have in our federal government."

Torgerson, an independent candidate, devotes a third of her "Issues" page to "Freedom of Religion," but she explains that Islam "is not 'religion' recognizable under the First Amendment" because it wants to "kill people not of their faith" and to "Islamize the entire world." (Torgerson aligns with the Catholic Church, which has never killed an nonbeliever or converted a wayward, thank Allah.)

"And, what do I know of Islam? Well, I know of 911. Nineteen (19) men from Saudi Arabia, all Muslim, hi-jacked planes, and flew into the two (2) World Trade Towers murdering thousands of people, and tried to fly into our Pentagon...

People say that we can't include the moderate, peace loving Muslims. Well, I agree. But, who are they? ... I cannot tell. It is not for me to go and try and find them. Rather, it is their duty to stand up and identify themselves, if there are any."

I know why Lynne can't find "peace loving Muslims." It's that when a Muslim tells her "I love peace," what she hears is, "I am going to kill you":

"I think it is interesting that Keith Ellison, in the past year or so, introduced a bill entitled "Global Peace." "Global." I think that word is telling. Globalization of Islam. It is also my understanding that when people of the Muslim faith use the word peace, that "peace" to them means the elimination of Christians and Jews."

Let's return to the screed:

"Recently, I was in the courthouse, the new Public Safety Facility in Minneapolis, and I saw an Islamic mother, covered in fabric from head to toe, and walking 5 to 15 feet BEHIND her son....

What else have I heard about Muslims? Fort Hood. What was the result of the teachings of Islam on a Muslim, who was an officer in the United States' military? Well, the result was him killing, I believe, 13 American soldiers, and injuring many others. Not one person killed or injured was a Muslim. In another book I am currently reading, entitled Muslim Mafia, it is suggested that Muslims want to infiltrate our police departments, our governments, etc., with the goal of Islamizing America."

You'd think the person espousing these beliefs would be a low-functioning nobody. But the lady is a lawyer, meaning she was smart enough to pass the bar, so her IQ can't be so low as to allow her to plead innocent by reason of mental defect.

"Me, I am a Christian. If someone criticizes Jesus, I am not going to go kill them. I may not even notice."

I'm glad you don't kill people who criticize Jesus, Lynne, because I'm going to do so right now: Jesus Christ, what the fuck is wrong with you to allow this hateful monstrosity—with a belief system more repugnant than Michele Bachmann's and a hairdo worse than Kate Gosselin's—to be unleashed unto humanity?

    • Why is it that someone is vile for speaking the truth? Islam is a sworn enemy of the west and western culture! convert or die their battle cry,and throughout history this has been the case! To call someone vile for speaking the truth is wrong! Political correctness has damaged this country beyond any sane level of reason! Personally I believe that anyone who would convert to this religion, which in truth is nothing more then a dangerous, and murderous cult,in the face of all those holding these beliefs have done and the innocent people that have been murdered,is beyond any common sense, and the this Elison should not be serving in any office! I hope the voters kick him out!

    • this woman is as obviously uninformed as she seems as a former catholic and history buff
i can confidently declare that history is littered with the bodies of the non believers all slaughtered at the direction of the catholic church
though i hold no anger towards persons faith in a country like the U.S. religion is a private matter i have no interest in rep. Ellison faith any more then i was in the faith of George bush until bush began to impose his faith on secular organizations in the government to my knowledge Rep. Ellison has not sponsored any join Islam or die recruitment drives or any bills claiming Islam is that religion to join so this woman is little more then a religions zealot that is wasting every ones time he Ellison was elected by the people of his district because he is well liked in his community which im sure is not entirely Muslim
conversely they mention Michele Bachmann she is a vile bigot and a zealot with no regard for the power of her words as a national figure and i hole her district responsible for her power in a democracy we choose those that hold power her district is directly responsible for any thing she does so far all Ellison has done is be Muslim bachmann on the other hand has accused democrats of being traitors and even called for the forcible removable of the first president in 20 years to have been elected with a clear majority of the vote
as an atheist i am constantly amazed at how im considered a bigger threat to faith then a person who say runs for office in the name of there religion
remember Christians of all stripes may agree that religion should and is part of the constitution but in the eyes of all Christians not all Christians are created equal don't assume that they have you particular faith in mind when they talk up there imaginary church/government connection in the constitution

    • The "view guestbook" link was removed, probably because of all the people leaving nasty messages, including one where I signed it as Adolf Hitler. Lame though, that you can still sign it, but not view it. Dumbass.

    • oh dear... It'd be terrifying if she were actually elected, but I'm pretty confident that the people of Minnesota have enough common sense to stay away from making that mistake. It's amazing that one's perceptions even have the capacity for that much warping, though.

    • "islam is not a religion because it wants to kill people not of their faith." she's a christian?
she better check out some history since this is how christianity, catholicism started out.
the crusades? with the pope on horseback leading the charge. the inquisition? she has to be called out publically on her views. killing and violence is the whole foundation for christianity.

    • Wow, what a hateburger. I love when people say, "With all due respect..." and then proceed to be totally insulting and bigoted.

With all due respect, Lynne Torgerson, you're a dick. Hopefully we won't hear from you again, as you most likely will not be elected to anything except Dumbass Hairdo Of The Month.

"What do I know of Muslims? I know 9/11." Fantastic.

    • If this woman hates Muslims so much she should give up washing her hair with shampoo, writing her numbers with Arabic numerals, using a compass, solving problems with algebra, writing on paper instead of animal skins, eating spicy foods, using blown glass, getting her medical care at a hospital, and a whole host of other things that originated in the Islamic world.

I thought Egyptions invented writing on Papyrus (sp?) and its doubtful the w/out the Islamic world we wouldnt have spices. Besides these inventions can't be attributed to Islam as a religion but rather Arab people and civilizations. From her statement it seems that she hates Muslims not necessarily the Arab race. So she's Anti-Muslim not Anti-Arab.

no one will vote for her. At least no one paying attention. She's running in a very liberal district against a very popular incumbent. She's the political equivalent of an airbag. Designed to lessen the impact to the party as she is smashed flat against the impact of the former Bush administration.

Great thing about America is that you can be anything you want to be... including a complete moron running for political office on a wave a fear. Said thing is that sometimes these people get elected, i.e. President [cough: Bush].

    • Typical republican, Fear, myths and lies to perpetuate her own career. The people of Minnesota have already elected Michelle Bachman (tea bagger fame ) who spews her own myths and lies (about death squads & Healthcare reform) who is about as smart as a dead tree branch. Poor people from minnesota they are really getting some shitty representation in Washington D.C. these days.

    • She's not a moron.

She's utilizing fear and hatred to motivate fearful and hateful morons, from which she has plenty to choose.

I love that she calls herself 'apolitical'. What a bizarre thing for a politician to say.

    • The wrongness of her statements, beliefs, hairdo, and attempt to run for office is blatantly obvious.
That hairdo though.... she's a moron that looks like a moron.

Here is her website, the part about her feelings on the issues; go down to Freedom Of Speech/Religion

heh heh. She's running in Minneapolis and Golden Valley.

IMHO This isn't a person anyone is expecting to win. Even the republicans. They probably just needed someone crazy and stupid enough to throw themselves on the pile of sharpened poo covered stakes that is the 5th district republican caucus. The republican party got hammered so bad last election there are sitting officials who simply aren't even bothering to run again, including the governor.

Still hard to pass up a belittling this deserved.
