From there the young man reels off such lines as "I hope I haven't come too prematurely," "it has traction control for when it gets a bit slippery and wet," and "I'll have her on her back by 11, I promise."
(HP, 2009, December 14, para. 1-2)

Well, because in marketing, you do not want to offend your potential customers. Someone that might buy a Yaris (a big ticket item) might go down the block to Honda just because they thought that Toyota was sexist.
The PR firm responsible for this should be fired because it was just a bad idea.

I was not impressed except for the casting of the dad and the creepy boyfriend. Nice choice on those actors. I can't believe they did not realize that it was going to piss some people off though.

Where's the sexism exactly? Did they mean 'pulled for sexuality'? There wasn't any sexism in it...

ironically, america isn't puritanical at all. there's a difference between what people say is right and appropriate and what people do behind closed doors. politicians preach about family values yet they're the ones spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on hookers and coke. think about..

fact. the puritanism isn't in their actions. it is in their laws and the censorship they impose on the rest of us. but no matter what they do behind closed doors they'll call a congressional hearing if we ever start to think its OK for us to do it.

It has nothing to do with puritanical views. It's implying women are inanimate objects men have sex with. It's misogynistic while being sexual. I don't despise the sexual undertones, rather the misogyny blended into it.

i don't look at it so sensitively. to me it's just 1:14 of dirty jokes. it's probably what even goes through our fathers' heads whenever a guy comes to the door. well, just up until she came down the stairs anyway.

Oh stop pretending you are a victim, Everydayxangel. It's making a joke about teen sex which exists (SHOCKING! I KNOW) and overprotective dads which also exist (SHOCKING! I KNOW) and trying to get the viewer's attention while mentioning it's safety features. Sex always sells.
There's nothing misogynistic or sexist about it. At All. SexUAL, yes. SexIST, no.
If someone made a joke about a penis in the video people like you would say it's misogynistic if they made a joke about a vagina people like you'd say it's misogynistic.
And if you don't believe me about teen sex statistics here ya go, I always come equipped with sources:
"The average male loses his virginity at age 16.9; females average slightly older, at 17.4."

Quit complaining about sexism. Since the dawn of time men have always felt free to perform and treat women the way they've wanted to. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY SHOULD!! But nevertheless, it's a petty commercial. Quite silly actually for those who have senses of humor...
