I think it's a DR.d photo of a twig from a tree. It look like it could be from an evergreen.

Maybe it's something on the camera because if you go down the street, the thing actually goes in front of stuff like trees, street lights, and bridges.

dont you people know what tree bark looks like? those camra rigs are on top of a car or truck, thats just a branch, the cut off is where all the images are merged...

If you go to the Google Maps link, you can move around and see that it's an object that is in front of one of the cameras. It stays in front of the camera even when the street view goes under a bridge - so it's not something in the sky. When it's under the bridge, you can even see the lighting on it changed, because it's not in the light. Then it gets light up again on the other side of the bridge.

The reason it cuts off is because that's the stitch-line, that's where it stitches the images together taken from the multiple cameras on the Google-mobile.

So it's something that fell on top of the top camera. Looks like a twig. Dropped from an alien spaceship, of course. :)

ya - looks like the bottom right corner was part of a tree that got 'cut' off - thinking it is a picture of 2 shots - camera movement makes it look like one?

It looks like a trail of smoke from a plane that is having engine problems and something from the engine flew off to the north causing the vertical smoke - the plane maybe veered off behind the smoke trail it left, which would explain why you can't see it...or photoshop.

I'm with you mitekillem, my thought is a branch.

Looks like a piece of a tree or a stick that was too close to the camera. Maybe the car passed under a tree right as the shot was snapped.

Maybe it's just some trash and debris that someone photoshopped in to look like a cloud. Hey, it wouldn't be the first time someone photoshopped to make a funky news story, 'n@!

Maybe a bunch of helium balloons tied together for decoration at a social gathering got loose?!
