I have no patience for malevolent drunks. No patience, Drugs, drink its no excuse.
Booze is probably the most dangerous substance it is so readily available, and it’s easy to get extremely wrecked. I felt a sense of amusement when I first read a book called Nation of Drunkards. It a beautiful and interesting book. It’s a history of alcohol and the forming of America. The nation really was conceived in a river of booze.
There is a basic difference in consumers of booze or any other substance, and that is the difference between being a professional drunk and a part time weekend warrior. I have understood for many years that I was a professional drunk but lately I am trying to become a weekend warrior ~a tough battle, but one that I think I am winning. The professional sets his/her day around drinking with the final goal to be wasted, while the weekend warrior just uses alcohol to lubricate the current social activities. It takes awhile to settle into your pattern and it takes a lot of hard work, patience and commitment to become a professional drunk.
